Currently the Secretary of State has the powers to offer loans and grants. The Government would require new primary legislation to enable the Secretary of State to offer the Alternative Finance product. star this property answer text <p>We understand that a draft clinical commissioning policy to cover the use of ataluren (Translarna) for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy is currently going through NHS England's standard development and decision making processes.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>NHS England has advised that a meeting of its Clinical Priorities Advisory Group has been delayed whilst further work is undertaken to refine the overall decision making process. NHS England remains committed however, to ensuring that a timely decision is made about a range of investment proposals that have been put forward for the 2015-16 financial year.</p><p> </p><p><strong> </strong></p><p> </p><p>NHS England continues to keep the range of services and treatments available to patients under review as new evidence and expert guidance becomes available.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>On 9 December 2014, I met with the hon. Member for Leeds North West (Greg Mulholland), representatives from the Society for Mucopolysaccharide Diseases and Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, as well as the parents of three children who suffer with Morquio syndrome and Duchenne muscular dystrophy, to hear their concerns about the continued provision of innovative drugs for these conditions which have been greatly benefiting their children.</p><p> </p><p><strong> </strong></p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p>VAT receipts from the sale of sanitary products subject to the reduced rate of VAT are estimated to have been approximately £15m in each of the last five years.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>A reduced rate of VAT of 5% currently applies to female sanitary products. This has been in place since 2001 and is the lowest rate possible under EU law.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The application of VAT in the EU, including rates and flexibilities afforded to member states in this regard, is governed by EU law. The Government cannot introduce a new zero rate as this would require a change to EU VAT legislation, which would require a proposal from the European Commission and the unanimous agreement of all 28 member states.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Home Office collects data on the number of crimes recorded by the police but not how many complaints the police receive. <br><br>Prior to 1 April 2014, offences relating to stalking recorded by the police were included in the offence classification of harassment and could not be identified separately. From the 1 April 2014 these offences have been supplied <br>to the Home Office as a separate classification of stalking. Therefore data are only available for the months April to June 2014, when the police recorded 695 offences.
