star this property answer text <p>We have interpreted this question to relate to the current process for making payments to customers.</p><p> </p><p>At present, once an award has been agreed, individual costs are reimbursed retrospectively rather than a single lump sum payment being issued in advance.</p><p> </p><p>We recently conducted a voluntary trial of a cash ‘Personal Budget’ model for Access to Work awards, which tested the response of Access to Work users to more direct control of their awards. We are using evidence from this trial to develop a further trial of personal budgets which we intend to launch shortly.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We have concerns, as highlighted recently by Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector, about settings where children are being put at risk of harm. We are aware of a range of concerns about teaching in madrassahs and other settings, usually reported by local authorities and schools.</p><p> </p><p>To build our evidence base about out-of-school education settings, we launched a call for evidence and asked for information about any concerns in relation to safeguarding, extremism, physical punishment or the suitability of premises. This generated a large number of responses which are being analysed and we will be publishing our response in due course.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We continue to stress the importance of respect for human rights and the rule of law to the Government of Bangladesh, both in public and in private. I urged the Bangladeshi High Commissioner to ensure that his government adhered to its human rights obligations when we met on 29 November 2016. As I said in my closing speech to the House of Commons adjournment debate on 8 September 2016, mass arrests, suspicious 'crossfire' deaths, and enforced disappearances at the hands of the police undermine confidence in the judicial system. Investigations must be conducted transparently and impartially, irrespective of either victim of alleged perpetrator.</p><p>Mr Ahmad Bin Quasem is not a British citizen; we are therefore unable to request consular access.</p> more like this
