<p>On 20 December 2018, the Government announced the first wave of 25 trailblazer
sites which will trial all three elements of the proposals in the Green Paper.</p><p>The
first mental health support teams are due to be fully operational by the end of 2019.
12 of the sites will also pilot a four-week waiting time to speed up children and
young people’s access to National Health Service mental health services. In addition,
the Department for Education will fund a significant new training programme for designated
senior leads for mental health in schools and colleges.</p><p>The NHS Long Term Plan
confirmed the commitment to roll out the proposals to at least 20-25% of the country
by the end of 2022/23, subject to learning from the first wave. We are in the process
of confirming the next phase of trailblazers.</p>
