UK Policing has issued guidance to support forces in the management of Foreign National Offenders to increase the number of overseas conviction checks submitted. This guidance was supported by extensive outreach campaigns to educate officers.</p><p>Individual force performance is one of the issues reviewed regularly at senior levels within the Home Office Foreign Criminality Programme. Triable either-way cases are now sent rather than committed. </em></p><p> </p><p>Performance, demand and waiting times in the courts are constantly reviewed to balance sitting days with waiting times, disposals and receipts. Resources are adjusted when required. Demand has been falling in recent years and sitting days have been reduced accordingly to ensure the backlog of work remains relatively stable. Available hours represents the hours notionally available, irrespective of whether subsequently utilised for crime, civil, family or tribunal hearings. The availability figure ignores all short-term unavailability as a result, for example, of being out of use due to local/temporary building work, or use by other organisations. Utilisation is only recorded for hearings in HMCTS-controlled or owned court/hearing rooms where parties were physically present.</p><p> </p><p>The utilisation rate is calculated as the total hours used divided by the number of notionally available hours. The data was produced from the HMCTS Performance Database on 8 July 2019. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/07/2019 answer text <p>The Home Office does not centrally hold the information requested.</p><p>From April 2017 the Home Office requested information on a voluntary basis from police forces on the number of individuals released on pre-charge bail following arrest, broken down by bail length.</p><p>Data received from 17 police forces has been published within the ‘Police powers and procedures, England and Wales’ statistical bulletin, for the 2017/18 financial year.
