star this property answer text <p>A new United Kingdom European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) has been developed for those eligible under the Withdrawal Agreement to protect the existing healthcare rights of people living, working and studying in the European Union prior to the end of the transition period. The new card will be valid from when it is received and for travel from 1 January 2021.</p><p>EU nationals living in the UK before 31 December 2020 will be able to apply for the new UK EHIC in December 2020. We will work with stakeholders and target communications at the relevant groups and audiences to ensure they get the call to action to apply for a new EHIC.</p><p>Should an EU national who is eligible for a new EHIC under the Withdrawal Agreement not have the card in time for any travel, they will still remain covered. If they require necessary healthcare whilst in the EU, they will be able to ask for a Provisional Replacement Certificate from the NHS Business Services Authority.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>From 21 March, letters were sent out from general practices to the 1.5 million people considered to be most medically at-risk from COVID-19, informing them that they should stay at home and avoid all face-to-face contact for a period of at least 12 weeks.</p><p>The Government have set up a National Shielding Helpline, which is a support service that will contact those who have received letters but not responded by telephone to ensure that their food and wellbeing support needs are being met. The helpline makes outbound calls only and does not accept inbound calls. star this property answer text <p>Work preparing the National Health Service for the COVID-19 pandemic has been ongoing and we have already nearly doubled ventilator capacity. New and existing suppliers are being asked to build as many as they can. The Prime Minister has issued a call to United Kingdom industry to produce additional ventilators and the Department asked appropriate potential manufacturers on 13 March to come forward with proposals for new ventilation machines. Around a dozen potential prototypes have now been presented to the Department which we are currently pursuing.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The United Kingdom Government has proposed to all Member States that we should maintain existing reciprocal healthcare arrangements until 31 December 2020 if the UK leaves the European Union without a deal.</p><p><br> I laid a Written Ministerial Statement (<a href="https://www.parliament.uk/business/publications/written-questions-answers-statements/written-statement/Commons/2019-09-26/HCWS1832/" target="_blank">HCWS1832</a>) on 26 September 2019, setting out the Department’s position on ‘no deal’ reciprocal healthcare arrangements, and updated information has been published on GOV.UK and NHS.UK on the situation for each Member State, including what arrangements have been put in place. star this property answer text <p>Penalty Notices for Disorder are one type of Out of Court Disposal, which allow police to deal quickly and proportionately with low-level offending without recourse to the courts.</p><p> </p><p>The responsibility lies with Police forces regarding the retention of data. These records must be regularly reviewed to ensure that they remain necessary for a policing purpose, and are adequate and up to date. Records should be disposed of when there is no longer a policing purpose for retaining them.</p><p> </p><p>We are working in partnership with the National Police Chief’s Council (NPCC) whose <em>Charging and Out of Court Disposals</em> strategy (2017-2021) promotes a simplified ‘two-tier’ framework in which all out of court disposals have a condition attached. The strategy asks forces to move to the simplified two-tier framework when it is operationally and financially viable. We have no separate plans to review Penalty Notices for Disorder specifically.</p> more like this
