star this property answer text <p>As confirmed in the Secretary of State for Transport’s Oral Statement on Monday 5<sup>th</sup> February, his Department is conducting a full appraisal of the options available to the Government to ensure continuity of service. This includes the service being operated by the Department for Transport through an operator of last resort and Stagecoach continuing to operate the service. In either scenario, the East Coast Mainline is expected to deliver substantial revenue to the taxpayer.</p> more like this

In addition, the government has supported those with lower incomes by increasing the personal allowance from £6,475 in 2010-11 to £11,850 in 2018-19, rising to £12,500 by the end of this Parliament.
