	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/05/2019 answer text <p>We welcome the Knife Crime Evidence Briefing published by the College of Policing on 27 April as a valuable contribution to the response to knife crime and serious violence. The report is consistent with the evidence and approach that we set out in the Serious Violence Strategy which we published in April last year. Specifically, the briefing supports the Government’s view that tackling knife crime and serious violence cannot be solely focused on law enforcement, but it should also involve a multi-agency approach involving a wide range of sectors, including education, health, social services, housing, youth services, victim services and others. This is why we launched our consultation on a new legal duty to ensure public bodies take action to prevent serious violence on 1 April. The consultation explores how a legal duty will support effective multi-agency work. It is open to everyone to respond and can be found here <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/serious-violence-new-legal-duty-to-support-multi-agency-action." target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/serious-violence-new-legal-duty-to-support-multi-agency-action.</a> The consultation closes on 28 May.</p><p>The College of Policing briefing is consistent with the approach we are tak-ing through the £22 million Early Intervention Youth Fund, which is already supporting 29 projects delivering interventions to young people at risk of becoming involved in knife crime and serious violence. We have also launched the £200 million Youth Endowment Fund, which will be delivered over the next 10 years to support interventions with children and young people at risk of involvement in crime and violence, focusing on those most at risk to steer them away from violence and to offer them a better future. They are also reflected in the NHS Constitution.</p><p> </p><p>The NHS Long Term Plan, published on 7 January 2019, sets out how the NHS will use the largest and longest funding settlement in NHS history to improve outcomes and patient experience over the next decade, meet the challenge of rising demand, and ensure that the NHS will remain sustainable for generations to come. We consistently raise our concerns about media freedom as part of ongoing discussions with Belarusian counterparts on human rights and democracy. UK officials last raised concerns in a meeting with the Belarusian Ambassador on 3 April and stressed the importance of a free media with the Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister on 17 April. Our Embassy in Minsk is monitoring the situation of the independent television channel, Belsat, following the search by Belarusian law enforcement officers. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/05/2019 answer text <p>The UK was one of the first countries to condemn President Putin's decision to sign a decree making it easier for Ukrainian citizens living in non-government controlled areas of eastern Ukraine to receive Russian passports. In a Foreign and Commonwealth Office statement, we made clear that rather than creating further obstacles to the reintegration of these communities into Ukraine, Russia should focus on implementing the Minsk Agreements in full. We also challenged Russia on this directly at the UN Security Council on 25 April, when the UK also expressed our support for Ukraine's sovereignty. This step by President Putin is the latest in a pattern of Russian behaviour aimed at threatening Ukraine's security and sovereignty and undermining its territorial integrity. The Foreign Secretary continues to discuss these issues with international partners. As the Prime Minister reiterated in a telephone call with President-elect Zelenskiy on 23 April, the UK fully supports Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/04/2019 answer text <p>The Sustainable Development Unit, a joint NHS England and Public Health England unit, has established a cross sector working group on low carbon inhalers. A cross system approach is now being developed into a system wide implementation plan, with specific actions being delivered by individual members of the group. All actions are supporting progress towards or to exceed the NHS Long Term Plan commitment on low carbon inhalers. This will contribute to the overall National Health Service commitment in the Long Term Plan to reduce carbon emissions in line with the UK Climate Change Act.</p><p> </p><p>On 8 April 2019, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) published a patient decision aid to help people with asthma, alongside health professionals, to identify which inhalers could meet their needs and control their symptoms. Where several inhalers could be viable options, the decision aid helps clinicians and patients choose the more environmentally friendly option, with a lower carbon footprint. It is co-funded by the SDU.</p><p> </p><p>This is the first time NICE has included climate change impacts in any guidance. In England, these systems monitor the number of items dispensed and associated costs in primary care and the volume of products used and associated cost in secondary care. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/05/2019 answer text <p>It is widely recognised that, along with lowering the burden of infection and exposure to resistance and optimising our use of antimicrobials, we also need a sustainable supply of new diagnostics, therapies and vaccines to tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The World Bank has predicted a global shortfall of $1 trillion gross domestic product per year after 2030 that could push an extra 28.3 million people into extreme poverty if we do not address AMR; potentially an additional 10 million deaths will be attributable to AMR by 2050.</p><p>The new United Kingdom five-year AMR national action plan, published alongside the UK 20-year vision for AMR on 24 January 2019, has therefore made the commitment to continue to invest in and promote innovation to tackle AMR and to work with international partners to agree a coordinated global system for incentivising new diagnostics and therapeutics. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/05/2019 answer text <p>The National Health Service Long Term Plan published in January 2019 set out that by 2021, where appropriate, every person diagnosed with cancer will have access to personalised care, including needs assessment, a care plan and health and wellbeing information and support. This will be delivered in line with the NHS Comprehensive Model for Personalised Care. This will empower people to manage their care and the impact of their cancer, and maximise the potential of digital and community-based support. Over the next three years every patient with cancer will get a full assessment of their needs, an individual care plan and information and support for their wider health and wellbeing.
