star this property answer text <p>The Home Office does not hold data centrally on how many police officers were suspended pending a misconduct hearing.</p><p>The Home Office collects and publishes data on misconduct proceedings, including hearings (and accelerated hearings) in the ‘Police misconduct, England and Wales year ending 31 March 2021’, available here: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/police-misconduct-england-and-wales-year-ending-31-march-2021/police-misconduct-england-and-wales-year-ending-31-march-2021#data-limitations" target="_blank">Police misconduct, England and Wales year ending 31 March 2021 - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)</a> However, information on whether the officer was suspended pending a misconduct hearing is not collected.</p><p>Separately, the Home Office also publishes information on the number of officers who are absent due to being suspended in the annual ‘Police workforce, England and Wales’ statistical bulletin, available here: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/police-workforce-england-and-wales" target="_blank">Police workforce England and Wales statistics - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)</a>. The information in this release is a snapshot of those absent on 31<sup>st</sup> March 2021 only, and does not cover all absences within the year.
