Companies are not paid for the medicines they supply into the scheme. However, the Government has recently announced new funding as part of a of a wider package of up to £86 million aimed at addressing barriers to uptake of innovation that were recommended in the Accelerated Access Review. Small to Medium Enterprises with products that meet the requirements for the Early Access to Medicines Scheme will be able to access this funding opportunity. Further announcements will be made on how small businesses can apply for this support. Where NICE’s draft guidance recommends use of the drug for routine commissioning or for use through the Cancer Drugs Fund, NHS England will make Cancer Drugs Fund funding available for its use in National Health Service patients in line with NICE’s recommendations from the point of licensing. A range of measures already exist to help reduce their anxiety, including giving evidence through live-link to the courtroom from a different room in the court, or away from the court building altogether, and the use of a Registered Intermediary. We doubled the number of Registered Intermediaries at the end of 2015 to increase the number available to help vulnerable and intimidated victims and witnesses give evidence.</p><p> </p><p>We are also rolling out recorded pre-trial cross-examination in the Crown Courts from next year so that vulnerable witnesses do not have to give their evidence at trial. The GEF has funded marine protected areas across the world that are more than twice the size of Alaska.</p><p>The UK’s core support to FAO in Financial Year 2016-17 was £17,681,203. DFID’s contribution to the Global Environment Facility in Financial Year 2016017 was £52,500,000.
