star this property answer text <p>Spending Power is a measure of resources available to a local authority to fund its services. It includes Settlement Funding Assessment (business rates baseline funding level plus Revenue Support Grant), Council Tax and other central government grants.</p><p>Prior to 2013-14, Formula Grant was non-ring fenced money for local government services. It was funded by central government grant and redistributed business rates. star this property answer text <p>The Building Safety Programme has been working with local authorities and building owners across England to identify properties that might have potentially unsafe cladding systems. For all of those high-rise buildings that have been confirmed as having aluminium composite material (ACM) cladding that does not meet the limited combustibility requirements set out in current building regulations guidance, the relevant fire and rescue service has been notified. We have worked with local authorities, housing associations, fire and rescue services and building owners to ensure that immediate steps are taken to make buildings safe.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Through the settlement, local government has been given access to £45.1 billion in 2018-19 and £45.6 billion in 2019-20. This is an overall increase since 17-18 of £1.3 billion, in recognition of increasing pressures, including demand for adult’s and children’s services.</p><p>A further £150 million was made available for Adult Social Care in 2018-19, alongside the freedom to raise more money more quickly through the use of the adult social care precept.</p><p>2018/19 is the third year of a four year deal providing funding certainty accepted by 97 per cent, giving them the certainty to plan financially to fulfil their statutory responsibilities.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We are supporting people's aspirations to buy through a range of initiatives including Help to Buy, Right to Buy, greater funding for Shared Ownership and Rent to Buy, and our plans for starter homes. Since Spring 2010 Government-backed schemes have helped over 433,000 households to buy a home and the number of first-time buyers is at a nine-year annual high. At the last Budget, the Government announced that first-time buyers will pay zero stamp duty on the first £300,000 of any home that costs up to £500,000.</p><p>The definition of starter homes is being finalised as part of the revised draft National Planning Policy Framework, which we will be publishing early this year.</p> more like this
