The Minister of State for Africa (Harriett Baldwin MP) raised the importance of protecting wildlife with the Government of Zambia when she visited on 25 and 26 July. After much deliberation on the island, the vet decided removing Jonathan’s cataracts was too high-risk a procedure. I reassure the noble Lord that despite being over 186 years old, Jonathan continues to lead an active life. The climate on St Helena, while perfect for diving and mountain walking, is not conducive to breeding this species of tortoise. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/05/2018 answer text <p>In her speech to the Commonwealth Forums on 17 April the Prime Minister set out the UK's readiness to support any member state wanting to reform outdated legislation that makes discrimination on the grounds of gender identity or sexual orientation possible. The Prime Minister was clear that while we must respect one another's cultures and traditions, we must do so in a manner consistent with our common value of equality, a value that is clearly stated in the Commonwealth Charter. We are fully committed to involving the Overseas Territories as we prepare for exiting the EU and establishing new trading relations with the world, in order to ensure their priorities and interests are taken into account. UK Ministers and leaders of the Overseas Territories discuss EU Exit in the UK – Overseas Territories Joint Ministerial Council on EU Exit Negotiations, which will meet for the fourth time on June 14th this year. These discussions will continue to include consideration of ways of assisting the Overseas Territories in analysing potential trade and economic impacts, as a consequence of EU exit.
