	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/07/2019 answer text <p>The Data Protection Act 2018 introduced a requirement on the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) to produce a statutory code of practice on age-appropriate design. The code will provide guidance on the design standards that the providers of online services, which process personal data and are likely to be accessed by children, will be expected to meet. Earlier this year, the Information Commissioner undertook a public consultation on her draft code.</p><p> </p><p>Separately, we have also set out our plans for world-leading legislation to make the UK the safest place in the world to be online in the Online Harms White Paper. This will make companies more responsible for their users’ safety online, especially children and other vulnerable groups. That is why the government included provisions in the Data Protection Act 2018 requiring the Information Commissioner to produce the age appropriate design code, to set out practical guidance for relevant information society services on the specific protections for children’s personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).</p><p> </p><p>The ICO will continue to have a proportionate approach to regulation and held a public consultation earlier this year inviting feedback on the draft code. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/09/2019 answer text <p>The Government takes the protection of personal data seriously, particularly when it relates to children and young people.</p><p> </p><p>Under Section 123 of the Data Protection Act 2018, the Information Commissioner is required to produce a statutory code of practice on Age Appropriate Design. The Code is to contain guidance on standards of age-appropriate design of relevant information society services likely to be accessed by children. It is a requirement of the Data Protection Act itself that the Code be compatible with it.</p><p> </p><p>We are keen to ensure that the code delivers the robust protection that children deserve and meets the requirements set out in the Data Protection Act 2018. Compliance with data protection legislation and protecting children against online harms are both key priorities for the department. Options include ATA Carnets, but also merchandise in baggage rules, oral declarations and duplicate lists.</p><p> </p><p>We recommend musicians take independent advice as an independent freight forwarder or broker should be able to provide guidance on the pros and cons of each option, and may help them plan journeys and navigate customs procedures.</p><p> </p><p>The department has engaged with businesses and trade bodies in the music industry, including those in the touring industry, and this engagement will continue.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has now agreed the Withdrawal Agreement with the EU.
