unstar this property answer text <p>The Government has agreed to provide £350 million in 2015-16 to the least fairly-funded local authorities in England. We are able to achieve this without any local authority receiving a cut to its per-pupil schools budget.</p><p>The Department for Education intends to find the majority of the £350 million from within its existing protected schools budget as determined at the Spending Round in June 2013, with additional money from the Treasury as required. Any funding provided by the Treasury will be agreed by the end of 2014 and will attract Barnett consequentials in the normal way.</p><p> </p> more like this

Friend, the Secretary of State for Education, established a dedicated Due Diligence and Counter Extremism Division within the Department for Education in October 2010 in order to tackle the threat of extremism in schools. The Government's revised <em>Prevent</em> strategy, published in June 2011, set out a general assessment of the threat. The Government has always been very clear that there is no place for extremist views in any school.</p><p> </p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The Department for Education received the ‘Trojan Horse' letter in December 2013. The Secretary of State has asked the Permanent Secretary to investigate how the Department dealt with warnings both since the formation of this Government in 2010 and before.</p><p> </p><p>Since receiving a copy of the Trojan Horse letter, the Department has been working closely with agencies such as Birmingham City Council, the police and Ofsted. Based on the Department's evidence-gathering, the Secretary of State commissioned inspections by Ofsted and appointed Peter Clarke as Education Commissioner.</p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Academy sponsors who receive the Sponsor Capacity Fund are required to sign a Grant Funding Agreement, agreeing to adhere to the terms and conditions of grant. They are required to submit an Annual Certification of Expenditure, signed by their auditors, and a final report detailing what has been achieved through use of the grant<strong>.</strong></p><p>If they fail to comply with any of the conditions of grant, or are deemed to be in breach of it, they are required to return the grant to the Department.</p> more like this
