star this property answer text <p>It is the Department for Education’s policy to have copyright in materials produced under contracts or grants assigned to the Crown. Where it benefits the Department we allow contractors/grant recipients to retain ownership of copyright but to provide the Department with a copyright license in the material.</p><p> </p><p>Breaches of copyright in material assigned to the Crown are dealt with by Her Majesty’s Stationery Office. Breaches of contract by contractors or grant recipients, including misuse of material which has been licensed to the Department, are dealt with by the Department subject to legal advice.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The National Association of Head Teachers wrote to the Secretary of State for Education on 22 October 2014 about paying school business managers on the leadership pay range. In her reply the Secretary of State explained that the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD) only provides for headteachers, deputy headteachers and assistant headteachers to be paid on the leadership pay range. School business managers do not fall within the definition of ‘school teacher’ in the STPCD and so are not subject to its provisions. Schools that are the direct employers of school business managers have the flexibility to decide for themselves the appropriate rates of pay for such staff.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Professional Skills Test results database has been updated to reflect the change in outcome for those candidates who were incorrectly notified that they had failed their Skills Test. Initial Teacher Training (ITT) providers have access to this database.</p><p>Any candidate affected in this way was instructed to contact the Standards and Testing Agency (STA) if they wanted to discuss their options.</p><p>The STA have also written to all providers of ITT courses to inform them of the issue.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government has agreed to provide £350 million in 2015-16 to the least fairly-funded local authorities in England. We are able to achieve this without any local authority receiving a cut to its per-pupil schools budget.</p><p> </p><p>We are able to deliver this boost by using money from within our protected schools budget and because HM Treasury will provide additional funding as required.</p><p> </p><p>The Department for Education intends to find the majority of the £350 million from within its existing protected schools budget as determined at the Spending Round in June 2013. Based on current forecasts, the Treasury will provide around £90 million in addition to the Department's contribution.</p><p> </p><p>The precise level of any additional funding from the Treasury will become clear when we have final data on pupil numbers.</p> more like this
