DFID will consider the implications with our offices, with UK civil society and with donors. The UK has made a £1.1 billion pledge to the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria for the 5th replenishment 2017-2019, increased from £800m for the 4th replenishment. This will boost funding for HIV through the Global Fund and will support the firm commitment to end the AIDS epidemic as a public health threat by 2030.</p> more like this

The issue is a complex one, but the UK has not shied away from its responsibility and we are working closely with the Government of Bangladesh to provide life-saving assistance to thousands of displaced men, women and children. Our initial support is already enabling food to reach 65,000 refugees, health care for 50,000, and emergency shelter for more than 26,000.
