star this property answer text <p>The Department offers work placements through our recently launched Return to Work Programme to provide a bridge back to work for individuals. We also take part in the Civil Service Summer Diversity Internship scheme. Individuals participating on both these schemes are paid whilst they are working in the Department.</p><p>The Department provides a work experience programme for 15 - 18 year olds from diverse backgrounds. This is a cross Civil Service scheme working with Local Education Authorities and aimed at giving individuals practical experience of life in the Civil Service for a week. This shadowing experience is unpaid. We do not centrally hold the information on the number of people who undertook this unpaid shadowing opportunity; it could only be obtained at disproportionate cost.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>As part of the Government's BBC Charter Review, it commissioned a report from Oliver and Ohlbaum Associates on BBC's market impact and distinctiveness. In terms of radio output, this includes improving the focus on promoting UK talent, particularly new UK acts, on Radio 1 and Radio 2.</p><p> </p><p>Ofcom, as the BBC's new regulator, will set the operating licence for BBC UK Public Services and will consult on these in due course.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Directorate of Defence Communications (DDC) in the Ministry of Defence (MOD) Head Office currently has 89 staff employed in media relations and communications role, 19 of whom are military personnel. These roles include, for example, news, campaigns, strategy and planning, digital, and internal communications. Salaries of those specifically in a media relations or communications role in each of the last ten years are not held centrally.</p><p>It is important that the work our Armed Forces do to keep Britain safe is communicated effectively. The number of MOD civilian communications jobs has been cut by more than a quarter since 2010.</p> more like this
