star this property answer text <p>I refer to my previous answer to the honourable member dated 11 September that the Department has had Board level discussions with Transport Scotland about improving the remainder of the A1 from Newcastle to Scotland, and will continue to look at the case for completing the dualling of the route, taking into account Scotland’s revised Transport Strategy upon its publication. Improvements to the A1 in Scotland are the responsibility of the devolved administration, but Highways England will consider the effects that improvements in Scotland may have on the A1 in England.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Prime Minister has made clear his focus on tackling crime and announced in August an investment of up to £2.5 billion to transform the prison estate and provide 10,000 additional prison places.</p><p> </p><p>Our recent Spending Round settlement provides the funding for MoJ to begin delivering this commitment and outline planning permission has been approved for a new prison at Full Sutton.</p><p> </p><p>The 10,000 places are additional to the 3,500 places, which we have begun at Wellingborough; that we will start building at Glen Parva next year, and; that we have already built at HMP Stocken.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government announced on 7 April 2020 that, as General Register Offices were closed or operating at a reduced capacity during the COVID-19 outbreak, HM Revenue and Customs would allow parents to claim Child Benefit for their newborns without having to register their child’s birth first, to ensure they did not miss out on Child Benefit payments. star this property answer text <p>Israel is a close friend of the UK; and our relationship is built on decades of cooperation. I have met with the new Israeli Ambassador to the UK on multiple occasions, seeking to further strengthen the UK-Israel partnership.</p><p>The Foreign Secretary visited Israel/OPTs on 24-25 August 2020 where he held discussions with Prime Minister Netanyahu, and other senior members of the Government on a range of security and prosperity issues. Our security and defence cooperation – particularly CT and cyber – continues to go from strength to strength in addressing shared national security interests.</p><p>The UK and Israel have also cooperated extensively on Covid-19. Our Embassy in Tel Aviv have convened several UK/Israel expertise exchanges, including recently on vaccine rollout.</p> more like this

This means ensuring that victims are supported at every stage of the criminal justice system, so that justice can be secured, victims and the public protected, and offenders punished.</p><p> </p><p>The Victims’ Bill, announced in the Queens’ Speech, will enshrine victims’ rights in law, hold agencies to account for delivering those rights and set expectations for the standard and availability of victim support.</p><p> </p><p>I am working closely with the Home Secretary in preparation for the consultation on this Bill which will take place later this year.</p> more like this
