	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/02/2019 answer text <p><del class="ministerial">The Home Office is putting in place measures to ensure that the EU Settlement Scheme is streamlined, user-friendly and accessible to all prospective applicants. That is why we are working in partnership with vulnerable group representatives, local authorities and other experts to make sure we reach everyone.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">Since November 2017, we have held monthly meetings with representatives of EU citizens on the design and development of the scheme and communications plans. We have been working closely with these groups to identify the needs of potentially vulnerable applicants including the disabled, elderly and isolated. There will be a broad range of support in place; for those who need non-specialist support there is the assisted digital service for technological support, and the Settlement Resolution Centre which will be able to assist with questions relating to the application process.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">When the scheme fully opens by 30 March, there will be further routes available to have identity documents checked. This includes posting passports or ID cards to the Home Office to be checked and returned, and there will be over 50 locations all over the country where applicants can have their document scanned.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">The Home Office is committed to supporting vulnerable EU citizens to obtain UK immigration status and we will continue to engage with representative groups to ensure the needs of vulnerable citizens are taken into account.</del></p><p><br /><ins class="ministerial">All EU Settlement Scheme advertising since March 2018 has been digital, using online channels. The goal of the pilot is to learn as much as possible and to increase numbers as slowly and gradually as necessary, and there will be safeguards in the process to ensure that no-one is left behind. We will report on our findings from the pilot before bringing forward legislation to extend managed migration.</p><p> </p><p>We have said that all individuals will be tracked all the way through the pilot process and understanding the reasons for unsuccessful applications will be an important part of the pilot. However, there will be safeguards in place to protect those who might otherwise fail to make a successful claim.</p><p> </p><p>The Department is committed to finding those who will need support and will help them through the process, including home visits where necessary. To identify and collate the total number of applications made would incur disproportionate cost. Consequently, we do not hold the information requested.</p><p> </p><p>Universal Credit claimants may be eligible for an advance payment, in order to provide extra financial support for those who need it most. The Department has increased the maximum advance a claimant may receive at the start of their claim to 100 per cent of their indicative award and has extended the repayment period to 12 months. From October 2021, this maximum repayment period will be extended further to 16 months.</p><p> </p><p>Around 60% of eligible new claims to Universal Credit received an advance in January 2019. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/05/2019 answer text <p>The NHS Business Services Authority is responsible for the administration of the NHS Injury Benefits Scheme on behalf of the Secretary of State. The Injury Benefits Scheme covers NHS workers with injuries or diseases contracted through their employment before 31 March 2013.</p><p>The NHS Business Services Authority will process Injury Benefits applications received up to and including 30 March 2018 but only in respect of injuries or diseases occurring on or before 30 March 2013. An exception to this rule is that the NHS Business Services Authority will process Injury Benefit applications received by 30 March 2038 for applicants who can provide evidence that there has been a delayed onset of their symptoms, such that application was not possible before 30 March 2018.</p><p>The NHS Business Services Authority has always had a dedicated team to process Injury Benefit applications, and the Department is content with the efficacy of their administration.</p> answering member constituency Wimbledon answering member printed Stephen Hammond question first answered 14/05/2019 14:10:24 answering member 1585 label Biography information for Stephen Hammond
