unstar this property answer text <p>It is important that consumers are confident they can find the best deals on price comparison websites.</p><p>Currently all energy switching sites accredited to the Ofgem Confidence Code need to provide a comparison of all tariffs available across the market, as a default, regardless of whether the switching site has a commercial arrangement in place with the supplier.</p><p>Following a recommendation by the Competition and Markets Authority, Ofgem launched a consultation on changes to the Confidence Code so that price comparison sites could show, as a default, only those tariffs for which it receives commission, provided it also includes clear and easy access to a whole of market comparison.</p><p>Ofgem is due to publish its decision on the consultation shortly.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Under terms in the supply license, energy companies must take all reasonable steps to obtain a meter reading for each customer at least once a year.</p><p>Customers may submit their own meter readings to energy companies at any time to avoid an estimated bill. If a supplier considers a customer’s reading to be reasonably accurate they must take all reasonable steps to reflect the meter reading in the next bill or statement of account. If a meter reading provided by a customer is considered not to be reasonably accurate, the supplier will ask for another reading or arrange to read the meter themselves.</p><p>The installation of smart meters, which is scheduled to be completed by 2020, should enable suppliers to provide more accurate bills, based upon actual readings transmitted by each meter.</p> more like this

Officials were in touch with Duro Felguera at that time to ascertain the situation, but it is the role of the appointed liquidator to secure the best result for the creditors.
