star this property answer text <p>HM Prison and Probation Service, or their contractors, provide a range of services to meet the needs of veterans in custody and in the community. The Military Covenant is actively supported by all organisations working within HMPPS.</p><p> </p><p>All offenders newly received into custody are screened at reception, those who declare their military past can access support from military charities who deliver services in the majority of prisons and work with Community Rehabilitation Companies. Staff will also encourage offenders to declare previous military service at any point during their sentence.</p><p> </p><p>Former service personnel benefit from the Veterans in Custody Scheme which aims to raise awareness of the help and support available to them and to their families whilst they serve their sentences and prepare for release.</p><p> </p><p>The Ministry of Justice will continue to promote existing partnerships and look to develop new alliances with military charities and organisations who have the skills to work with former members of the Armed Forces in custody and upon release.</p>

star this property answer text <p>The Government has committed £5.7 million to support programmes targeted at former service personnel in the criminal justice system.</p><p> </p><p>Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service advertise grant opportunities for voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations for innovative projects and pilots, that reflect priorities of the agency. All grant funding to voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations, including those wishing to support former members of the Armed Forces, is competed openly and these opportunities are published on the Government contract finder website.</p><p> </p><p>The Ministry of Justice is committed to ensuring that those who have served in the Armed Forces and who find themselves in the Criminal Justice System are able to access support in custody and the community</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Backed by the Government’s funding commitment for the National Health Service - £33.9 billion a year more by 2023-24 - a new strategy has been developed to take the health system forward: the NHS Long Term Plan.</p><p>In the NHS Long Term Plan, the NHS has committed to meeting the Government’s financial test that the NHS will deliver overall financial balance in every year, and that all NHS organisations will be in balance by 2023-24.</p><p>A new financial framework that is better able to support and encourage the health system to develop in a more sustainable way with a rebalancing of its finances forms part of this plan.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department collects data on backlog maintenance annually from National Health Service trusts through its Estates Returns Information Collection. The accuracy of the data is the responsibility of the contributing NHS organisations. The total backlog maintenance for Northwick Park Hospital for 2018-19 was £141 million.</p><p> </p><p>Improving the quality and safety of the NHS estate is a key part of the NHS Long Term Plan. Reduction and elimination of backlog maintenance is an element of this, combined with simultaneously making the estate better through reconfiguration. These steps will enable NHS trusts and NHS foundation trusts, not primary or social care, to maintain their services and ensure they can provide patients with high quality care, both now and in future.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this
