Figures for the past five years are not recorded and there are no forecasts for the next two years.</p><p>It should be noted that significant numbers of other officials and military personnel across the Ministry of Defence have roles that contribute to international trade, and a large proportion of this work is channelled through the Department for International Trade's Defence and Security Exports team.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Further to the answer I gave the hon. Member on 6 October 2014, Question UIN 208271 refers, we continue to make progress on this issue. As stated previously, we fully endorse existing, strong credit unions expanding their membership to the Armed Forces community.</p><p> </p><p>I met Lord Kennedy on 15 October 2014 to discuss the matter of credit unions for members of the Armed Forces. I confirmed that the facilitation of payroll deduction for credit unions is technically possible and our payroll provider is engaged with officials to scope and cost such deductions. Further work is under way to determine the criteria for access to this facility, and to develop an education campaign for our personnel to enable them to make informed financial choices.</p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

Member is aware, I fully endorse the expansion of existing, strong credit unions to the Armed Forces community and the Ministry of Defence (MOD) has for many months been working to bring this about.</p><p>As part of this initiative, the MOD's payroll provider is working with officials to scope and cost payroll deductions for a credit union. Further work is underway to determine the criteria for access to this facility, and to develop an education campaign for our personnel to enable them to make informed choices.</p><p>We anticipate this complex work will be completed during summer 2015.</p> more like this

The highest salaries relate to a small number of individuals within the organisation. In line with Cabinet Office guidance on publishing information, highest salaries are shown in £5,0000 bands.</p><p> </p><p>Pay scales for the highest and lowest Armed Forces Personnel salaries can be found in Armed Forces’ Pay Review Body (AFPRB) and Senior Salaries Review Body (SSRB) Reports. The AFPRB and SSRB Reports are published annually and copies are placed in the Library of the House. The formation of an Armed Forces Credit Union is not considered to be core Ministry Of Defence (MOD) business, however we fully endorse existing, strong credit unions expanding their membership to include members of the Armed Forces community. <br><br>The MOD is currently exploring the support it can offer those unions and that includes investigating how we can facilitate payroll deductions for Credit Unions.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Between 2011 and 2013 the Government reviewed a range of options for RAF Northolt, including the potential for disposal or transfer of the aerodrome functions to a civil operator. As part of this, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) commissioned the 2012 Project Ark report. The reference to civil licences in the Project Ark report was in relation to some of these options. Following this review, in April 2013 MOD Ministers took the decision to retain RAF Northolt as a military aerodrome, and other options were not taken forward. Therefore, civil licences were not considered further.</p><p> </p><p>The Project Ark report said that there may be potential to increase civil use on the military aerodrome up to 20,000 movements. However, Ministers took the decision to raise the self-imposed cap on civil movements to 12,000 movements per year. There are no plans to revisit this decision.</p><p> </p><p>Following that April 2013 review decision, the Project Ark report was archived, many of its options remained hypothetical, and it is not an active planning document.</p><p> </p><p>Medium-size airliner type aircraft can be operated at RAF Northolt. Alongside the based BAe 146 military airframes, a number of European allies operate medium-airliner-sized military aircraft into RAF Northolt on military business. However, civil movements remain under strict terms and conditions which specifically limit operating hours and the number of passengers, and exclude Scheduled Commercial Operations. This has the effect of limiting the types of civil aircraft which can operate into RAF Northolt to business aviation flights.</p><p>No meetings have been held with commercial airlines about RAF Northolt, but Ministers did in late 2015 and early 2016 correspond twice in reply to the Chief Executive of Flybe, following an unsolicited bid from that airline. This was not considered further. There are no plans to change the strict terms and conditions that limit the number of passengers on civil movements and exclude scheduled flights.</p><p> </p><p>As the planned runway works will see the refurbishment of existing infrastructure for military requirements, and no change of use is planned, there is no requirement for planning permission.</p><p> </p>
