It is a fundamental freedom which underpins many other human rights. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/12/2018 answer text <p>Women must have the right to make their own decisions about their sexual and reproductive health and well-being and we believe the best way to eliminate unsafe abortion is to improve access to family planning information, services and supplies.</p><p> </p><p>DFID’s <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/safe-and-unsafe-abortion-uks-policy-position-on-safe-and-unsafe-abortion-in-developing-countries" target="_blank">policy on safe abortion</a> takes an evidence-based, public health approach that aims to reduce death and disability caused by unsafe abortions. In countries where abortion is permitted, we can support programmes that make safe abortion more accessible in order to save the lives of women who would otherwise risk death or disability through backstreet abortions. The former Foreign Secretary raised our concerns about harassment of BBC Persian staff and their families in Iran with his Iranian counterpart during his visit to Tehran on 9-10 December 2017. I raised this issue directly with the Government of Iran when I visited Tehran in September 2018. DFID’s contribution on the promotion of FoRB is part of the work of many DFID staff around the world and would not be possible to quantify. All DFID interventions must include analysis of the different needs, rights and patterns of discrimination due to many factors including religion. With support from the Department, NHS England and the Association of Directors of Social Services will undertake a series of visits to clinical commissioning groups to discuss good practice in meeting the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Quality Standard 51 Autism, and those that do not, with the aim of supporting more consistent provision. These NICE guidelines already recommend that there should be a maximum of three months between a referral and a first appointment for a diagnostic assessment for autism. We expect the National Health Service to be working towards meeting the recommendations. Information on the average waiting time for an autism diagnosis in Devon in each of the last three years is not collected centrally.</p><br /><p>General practitioners (GPs) are required to keep adequate records of their attendance on, and treatment of, their patients and this should include details of autism where it is known. For this to work successfully locally services undertaking autism diagnosis should pass information back to the GP who has made the original referral.
