star this property answer text <p>The Government recognises the critical role that post offices play in communities and for small businesses across the UK. The overall number of post offices across the UK remains at its most stable in decades with over 11,500 branches thanks to significant Government investment of over £2 billion since 2010.</p><p>I have been informed that Acton Post Office has closed as the site is being redeveloped and that unfortunately the Post Office has not been able to establish an alternative service so far. As this is an operational matter for the Post Office I have asked Paula Vennells, the Group Chief Executive of Post Office Limited, to write to you on this matter setting out what steps the Post Office is doing to restore the service as soon as possible. The Government announced on 18 October 2018 that, as part of the Cycling</p><p>and Walking Investment Strategy (CWIS) Safety Review, the Highway Code would be reviewed to help keep cyclists and pedestrians safe on the roads.</p><p> </p><p>The full scope of the review has yet to be determined but in accordance with normal practice it will be conducted in consultation with all of our stakeholders, including those representing equestrians such as the British Horse Society.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>HMRC wants to keep as many employees as possible as it moves to its regional centres. It has been clear that if someone can move to a regional centre and has the skills it needs or is able to develop them, there will be a role for them.</p><p> </p><p>For International House, Ealing, current planning data shows that around 107 full-time equivalent people or 52% will transfer to a HMRC regional centre.</p><p> </p><p>HMRC expects that once Crossrail becomes operational, with journey times from Ealing to Stratford of around 30 minutes, this number will increase.</p><p> </p><p>However, HMRC cannot be certain about how many will actually be able to move to a regional centre or the numbers who may complete their career at International House until one-to-one discussions have taken place. star this property answer text <p>The UK is home to some of the highest animal welfare standards in the world and we hope that UK citizens continue to respect these standards when they travel abroad.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has been working with the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) to encourage them to make their customers aware of the reported issues around Asian elephants. Tourists should consider whether there are reasonable grounds to believe that animals have been mistreated before deciding whether to visit an animal attraction.</p><p> </p><p>We would encourage tourists to report any animal welfare concerns to their UK tour operator or travel agent on return to the UK.</p> more like this

It has been clear that if someone can move to a regional centre and has the skills it needs or is able to develop them, there will be a role for them.</p><p> </p><p>The HMRC office at Ealing, International House, is scheduled to close in 2020-21 under HMRC’s location strategy. The number of staff in the office who may be at risk of redundancy will not be known until the completion and outcome of one to one conversations between staff and their managers and the result from the independent decision maker.
