The reports for the last three years are available at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/statistics-of-scientific-procedures-on-living-animals." target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/statistics-of-scientific-procedures-on-living-animals.</a></p><p>The number of non-human primates used for the first time in procedures in that year is given in Table 1a of the data tables published in each of the last three statistical reports.</p><p>The place of birth of non-human primates used for the first time in experimental procedures by species in that year is given in Table 2.2 of the data tables published in each of the last three statistical reports. Place of birth is presented by whether the animals were born in the UK, EU, Asia, America, Africa or elsewhere. This can be found within Table 12 of the data tables published in the 2017 statistical report.<a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/statistics-of-scientific-procedures-on-living-animals-great-britain-2017" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/statistics-of-scientific-procedures-on-living-animals-great-britain-2017</a></p><p>In 2017, the majority of experimental procedures used mice, fish and rats. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/12/2017 answer text <p>All substantive protections covered in the Equality Act 2006, the Equality Act 2010 and equivalent legislation in Northern Ireland will continue to apply in domestic law after exit just as they do now, subject to the correction of any deficient provisions (for example, changing references to “EU law” to “retained EU law”). The EU (Withdrawal) Bill will also convert EU law into UK law as it applies in the UK at the moment of exit.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is committed to ensuring that equalities are properly protected in UK legislation following our withdrawal from the EU. In some areas, such as reporting requirements on gender pay gaps, UK equalities law offers greater breadth than that offered by EU law. The paper ‘Fetal growth, stillbirth, infant mortality and other birth outcomes near UK municipal waste incinerators; retrospective population based cohort and case-control study’ is available to view at the following link:</p><p> </p><p><a href="https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0160412018316398" target="_blank">https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0160412018316398</a></p><p> </p><p>The paper found no evidence of a link between exposure to particulate matter emitted from modern municipal waste incinerators as modelled from emissions data, or living close to modern municipal waste incinerators, and infant mortality, low birth weight, still birth or the other birth outcomes investigated.</p><p> </p><p>PHE’s position is that well run and regulated modern municipal waste incinerators are not a significant risk to public health. PHE will review its advice in light of new substantial research on the health effects of incinerators published in peer reviewed journals. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/11/2018 answer text <p>Public Health England has not undertaken any comparative assessment of the human health effects of municipal waste incinerators and anaerobic digestion of waste.</p><p> </p><p>In the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs’ forthcoming Resources and Waste Strategy the Government will be setting out more details on our ambitions for minimising the environmental impacts of waste whilst maximising its value as a resource.</p><p> </p><p>All waste operators are required to follow the waste hierarchy in managing waste.
