The Crown Prosecution Service is committed to treating all victims and witnesses at court with respect and sensitivity. Victims of domestic abuse are encouraged to take part in pre-trial familiarisation visits, which can help them understand what will happen when they attend court. While the time limit for bringing most claims is three months, tribunals have the discretion to provide extensions. We believe that the current approach, taken on a case by basis, is the most proportionate at this time</p><p><br> The Government continues to look closely at extending the time limit for bringing Equality Act 2010 based cases to the employment tribunal and are looking to assess the impact of such a change on all aspects of the Employment Tribunal System.
