	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/05/2018 answer text <p>Access for vital supplies of medicine, food, and fuel into northern Yemen is crucial, with 70% of the people in humanitarian need in Houthi-held areas in the north of the country.</p><p> </p><p>Since the start of 2018, more than 2,000 metric tonnes of medical supplies have been delivered by dedicated vessels through the port of Hodeidah. Medical supplies are also imported into Red Sea ports on commercial vessels predominantly carrying food or fuel. In the last three months imports through Red Sea ports have increased. Further medical supplies also enter northern Yemen through UN flights into Sana’a airport. So far this year, these flights have been reliable and only one has not taken off as planned. UN agencies additionally import medical supplies through the southern port of Aden; we do not have an exact figure at this time, but they form only a clear minority of the total imports of medical supplies.</p><p> </p><p>The UK has provided £1.3 million to support the UN’s Verification and Inspection Mechanism and speed up the process of clearing commercial vessels entering Yemen. This includes centrally managed funding to the UN Peacebuilding Fund and bilateral projects focused on specific countries, all of which can be searched using the relevant key words. Details are updated routinely once a month. Prior to this all new data is required to go through an approval stage before they are eligible for publication. From the date this approval is received it can take up to 2 months for that information to publish to the Development tracker. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/02/2018 answer text <p>Close to 80% of both commercial and humanitarian imports have habitually entered Yemen through Hodeidah and Saleef ports. During her visit to Riyadh, the Prime Minister emphasised the importance of full and unhindered commercial and humanitarian access to these ports.</p><p>Currently we judge that imports to Hodeidah and Saleef are insufficient, with just 70% of monthly food and 76% of monthly fuel levels entering through these ports compared to the period before November 2017. We recognise the Saudi-led coalition is working to increase access through other ports including Aden in the South of Yemen. This is one reason why the recent increase in hostilities in Aden is a concern. The UK is working with the UN to increase the number of inspections of commercial vessels to encourage greater access into Hodeidah and Saleef. More than 450,000 doses of oral cholera vaccine were supplied to protect vulnerable Yemenis from cholera. The UK paid for 25% of these doses. A further 860,000 doses of the vaccine have been made available to Houthi-held areas in the north of Yemen. However, the Houthis are yet to provide permission for this campaign to go ahead.</p><p> </p><p>Overall, 4.5 million doses of the vaccine have been approved by the Global Task Force on Cholera Control for the whole of Yemen. These will be delivered throughout 2018, access allowing. Due to the integrated nature of our water, sanitation and hygiene programmes, we do not report on disaggregated spend between the three sub-sectors. The estimate of funds committed to water and sanitation on Devtracker for 2018-19 is £201.5m.</p><p> </p><p>Our funding for programmes is based on the amount needed to achieve the results expected.
