The Prime Minister has set out what the basis is for a good deal, and we expect to be able to achieve that. The most important thing is that the Government is determined to respect the result of the referendum.<br><br>As the Prime Minister has said, the Government will put the final deal that is agreed between the UK and the EU to a vote in both Houses of Parliament, before it comes into force, as both the Exiting the European Union Committee and the Opposition have requested<strong>.</strong></p> more like this

DExEU ministers are pursuing a programme of extensive engagement with the European Parliament which has included meetings with UK MEPs. This programme of engagement has laid the groundwork for constructive dialogue and we will continue to engage with MEPs through the process.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The majority of Bermudian citizens are entitled to British citizenship under the British Overseas Territories Act 2002 and as EU citizens can exercise free movement rights in the EU. This is the case for most British Overseas Territory Citizens. The post-exit immigration rules that apply to British nationals in the EU will be the subject of negotiations, as will the detail of the future relationship between the Overseas Territories and the EU.</p><p>The Government has committed to fully involving the Overseas Territories in discussions on EU exit to ensure their interests are taken into account. UK Ministers and leaders of the Overseas Territories have committed to taking forward future engagement through the creation of the UK – Overseas Territories Joint Ministerial Council (JMC) on European Negotiations. The JMC met for the first time on 6-7 February 2017, chaired jointly by Robin Walker, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Exiting the European Union, and Foreign Office Minister Baroness Anelay and discussed a range of issues of interest to the Overseas Territories.</p><p><strong> </strong></p>

star this property answer text <p>The UK Government is committed to involving the Overseas Territories as we prepare to exit the EU, and ensuring their interests are properly taken into account.</p><p>UK Ministers and leaders of the Overseas Territories have committed to taking forward future engagement through the creation of the UK – Overseas Territories Joint Ministerial Council (JMC) on European Negotiations.</p><p>The JMC met for the first time on 6-7 February 2017, chaired jointly by Robin Walker, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Exiting the European Union, and Foreign Office Minister Baroness Anelay and discussed the interests of the Overseas Territories. The Premiers of Bermuda, the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands were present. The UK's commitment to financial transparency was reiterated at the meeting.</p><p>As we approach our negotiations with the European Union we will go on working closely with the Overseas Territories, helping to ensure that we get a deal that works for everyone.</p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p>The UK Government has made clear that it intends to fully involve Gibraltar as we prepare for exit from the EU, to ensure Gibraltar’s interests are properly taken into account. <br><br>I have been closely involved in considering Gibraltar’s priorities from the start of the EU exit process. On 20 July, my first debate in my role as a minister at the Department for Exiting the European Union was a Westminster Hall debate on the EU Referendum and Gibraltar (https://hansard.parliament.uk/Commons/2016-07-20/debates/16072020000001/EUReferendumGibraltar). <br><br>The Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union and I met the Gibraltar Chief Minister on 12 September 2016 and I held a meeting with the Chief Minister and representatives of Gibraltar industry and trade unions on 1 November. <br><br>At a multilateral level, Minister for the Overseas Territories, Baroness Anelay and I met with leaders of the Overseas Territories on 2 November 2016 at the UK-Overseas Territories Joint Ministerial Council. We committed to taking forward future engagement through the creation of the UK – Overseas Territories Joint Ministerial Council on European Negotiations (JMC – OT EN), to meet in February.<br><br>I chaired the first meeting of the UK-Gibraltar Ministerial Forum on EU Exit took place on 7 December 2016, with Foreign and Commonwealth Office Ministers taking part alongside the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Gibraltar.</p>
