We do not interfere in employers’ recruitment decisions or set specific quotas for the number of apprenticeships to be taken up by people with special educational needs or disabilities.</p><br /><p>All employers must fulfil their duties as set out in the Equality Act 2010 for apprentices as they would for other employees. We believe that the overwhelming majority of young people with special educational needs and disabilities are capable of sustainable, paid employment with the right preparation and support. For many, apprenticeships are the best route into paid employment. To support this, people aged 16 and over can apply for Access to Work funding for adjustments to the workplace. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/01/2016 answer text <br /><p>The Five Per Cent Club has been developed and is run by businesses themselves who commit to making a public declaration to achieve five per cent of their company’s overall UK headcount being an apprentice, a sponsored student or on a graduate programme. We do not hold any information on the proportion of planned apprenticeships provided by employers in the Five Per Cent Club which are expected to be taken up by apprentices with special educational needs or disabilities.</p><br /><p>Thousands of disabled people have benefitted from apprenticeships. This is part of a wider, cross-government commitment to reaching three million apprenticeship starts in England across all sectors in 2020.</p><br /><p>Apprenticeships are full time jobs with training. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/12/2015 answer text <p>Apprenticeships are paid jobs, and whilst we would not want to interfere in employers’ recruitment decisions, we believe there is more that can be done to ensure that people from a diverse range of backgrounds are in the best possible place to apply for and secure an apprenticeship. For instance, the availability of reasonable adjustments for disabled learners (who can apply for Access to Work funding) and the accessibility of online tests. Employers must fulfil their duties as set out in the Equality Act 2010 for apprentices as they would for other employees.</p><p>Government also fully funds apprentices aged 19 to 24 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHC Plan). Apprentices aged 19 to 24 without an EHC Plan, who have a learning difficulty and/or disability can benefit from additional funding through Learning Support.</p><p>Advice is also available to help employers and training providers understand disabilities and how to better support disabled apprentices. The updated estimates now range from 800 MW to 2 gigawatts (GW) each year in 2015/16 and 2016/17 compared to previous estimates of 300 to 500 MW.</p><p>As a result of the proposed government intervention to close the Renewables Obligation to rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects below 5MW from 1 April 2016, annual household electricity bills will be lower. Consumers are expected to save between £0.20 and £0.60 in 2016/17, and between £0.50 and £1.20 in 2017/18. (These figures are round to the nearest decimal point are in real 2014 prices). All 14 local authorities are in England.
