The country faces multiple security challenges, including terrorism in the North, intercommunal conflicts and criminal banditry in the North West and Middle Belt and violence in the South East and South West. I [Minister Mitchell] discussed rising insecurity with the leading presidential candidates in December 2022 and January 2023.
