It is for local authorities to ensure ceremonies can be safely delivered in line with Public Health and local authority guidance.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">Marriages and civil partnerships can take place in Wales where appropriate risk assessments have been undertaken and safety measures are in place</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">National restrictions in England came to an end on 2 December. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/11/2023 answer text <p><del class="ministerial">Theatre is the artform that receives the most public funding via Arts Council England, and there are now more theatre organisations in its National Portfolio than ever before. In 2023–24, Arts Council England is investing over £140 million in 194 theatre organisations, including 47 new theatre organisations joining the portfolio this year. The Arts Council will be investing £31,000 in theatre organisations in Romford in 2023–24.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">In addition, theatres and orchestras will continue to benefit from the extension by His Majesty’s Government of the higher rates of tax relief for a further two years, as announced at Spring Budget 2023.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">His Majesty’s Government has supported a number of projects looking at the cultural heritage of the Irish diaspora through its arm’s-length bodies.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">Arts Council England supported the Irish Arts Foundation on its 'Exploring the musical traditions of County Cork &amp; County Kerry' project in Leeds, providing over £20,000 of public funding in 2021/22. </ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">In 2022/23, The National Lottery Community Fund provided £7,950 of funding to Leeds Irish Arts Foundation’s ‘Neighbours!’ project, to help engage people from around West Yorkshire in Irish music and workshops to celebrate Irish culture, music and arts. In 2023/24, The National Lottery Community Fund provided £6,421 of funding to Cú Chulainn’s to deliver a family funday to bring young people and families from the local Irish community and the community more broadly together.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">Since 1994, The National Lottery Heritage Fund has awarded almost £3 million to projects which have explored the history of the Irish diaspora in England, covering themes such as the World Wars, aspects of culture shared with others, and the experiences of those who have built their lives here in the UK. </ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">‘Look Back to Look Forward: 50 Years of the Irish in Britain’ is an ambitious heritage project which captures the history of the Irish in Britain’s membership organisations and the communities they serve, and is currently touring. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/09/2022 answer text <p>The Government reviews all licence applications for the export of UK-manufactured military and dual-use equipment against the Strategic Export Licensing Criteria, including an assessment of any risk that the items will be diverted to an undesirable end-user or for an undesirable end-use. In addition, the UK ensures its arms exports are compliant with the Arms Trade Treaty, and international trade sanctions. Restrictions on the export of military and dual use goods will also make it more difficult for Russia to access this technology.</p><p>The Ministry of Defence is an advisory Department to the Department of International Trade on the export licence assessment process, and assesses the risk of such exports against our defence capability and national security, as well as the risk of diversion. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/02/2022 answer text <p>The department recognises that the demand for skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) is growing, and we are proud to be encouraging more pupils into STEM at all key stages. We have put employers at the heart of the technical education system, asking them to set out the skills and knowledge that they need now and in the future. This has formed the basis of new occupational standards. So far, STEM employers, including those in construction, digital, engineering and manufacturing, and health and science sectors have developed 343 apprenticeships based on these standards.</p><p>We are introducing T Levels, boosting access to high quality technical education for thousands of young people, which are also based on the same occupational standards. T Levels in Digital, Construction and Health and Science are now being taught and T Levels in Engineering and Manufacturing will launch this September. A new campaign, ‘Get the Jump’, has been launched to help young people aged 14 to 19 to understand their education and training choices. T Levels are featured heavily in the campaign as an exciting new option for young people alongside apprenticeships, traineeships and Higher Technical Qualifications</p><p>Alongside this, we are investing up to £290 million to establish a comprehensive network of Institutes of Technology across England. These are unique collaborations between further education colleges, universities and employers specialising in delivering higher technical education and training in key STEM subjects such as cyber security, artificial intelligence, robotics, precision farming and health and life sciences. A key objective of the programme is to increase participation from under-represented groups to support the long-term STEM skills pipeline.</p><p>For those earlier on in their education, we are proud to have made substantial spending commitments to improve the teaching and uptake of STEM subjects in schools. We are offering a bursary worth £24,000 tax-free or a prestigious scholarship worth £26,000 tax-free to train to teach the highest priority subjects of chemistry, computing, mathematics and physics and a £15,000 tax-free bursary for design and technology. In line with the Gatsby Benchmarks for good career guidance, all schools are expected to provide at least one meaningful encounter with employers per pupil per year, with an emphasis on STEM employers.</p><p>We have improved the quality of technical awards. These non-GCSE qualifications are intended to equip 14-16 year olds with applied knowledge not usually acquired in general qualifications. They are intended to focus on a sector or occupational group and enable the development of knowledge as well as associated practical skills where appropriate.</p><p>Schools have access to the STEM Careers toolkit which provides ideas and practical suggestions on how STEM specific content might be used to meet the Gatsby Benchmarks. They are geographically spread across the country and target areas where they are most needed, including Barking and Dagenham, Blackpool, Sunderland, and Dudley. There are no plans at this stage to develop more.</p><p>In total, 3 of the IoTs serve London, including the East London IoT based at Barking and Dagenham College’s Rush Green campus in the neighbouring Rainham and Dagenham constituency. The London City IoT is situated in the nearby East Ham, and Bethnal Green and Bow constituencies. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/03/2022 answer text <p>Apprenticeships provide people with the opportunity to earn and learn the skills needed to start an exciting career in a wide range of industries, everything from artificial intelligence, archaeology, data science, business management and banking. We want more young people to benefit from high-quality apprenticeships.</p><p>To encourage more young people to consider apprenticeships, we are promoting apprenticeships in schools and colleges through our Apprenticeship Support &amp; Knowledge programme. This free service provides resources and interventions to help better educate young people about apprenticeships and has reached over 2 million students across England since its introduction in the 2016/17 academic year.</p><p>In January 2021, we announced the introduction of a three-point plan to enforce provider access legislation. This requires that all maintained schools and academies provide opportunities for providers of technical education and apprenticeships to visit schools for the purpose of informing year 8-13 pupils about approved technical education qualifications or apprenticeships. This plan includes creating clear minimum legal requirements, specifying who is to be given access to which pupils and when. This is an important step towards real choice for every pupil.</p><p>The National Careers Service, a free, government-funded careers information, advice and guidance service draws on a range of labour market information to support and guide individuals. The National Careers Service is impartial, and careers guidance is tailored to individual needs. Young people aged 13 to 18 can access ongoing in-depth information, advice and guidance from the service via a helpline, webchat or the National Careers Service website.</p><p>In February during National Apprenticeship Week, I wrote to all year 11, 12 and 13 pupils and their parents to tell them about the great opportunities offered through apprenticeships.</p><p>We offer guidance and support to young people who are considering applying for apprenticeships through our apprenticeship website: <a href="https://www.apprenticeships.gov.uk/" target="_blank">https://www.apprenticeships.gov.uk/</a>, which explains the application stages in a step-by-step process.
