star this property answer text <p> </p><p>The UK Rivet Joint could not be certified under Military Aviation Authority Regulatory Publications (MRP) due to difficulties in obtaining documentary evidence of the aircraft's original design basis. The MRP allows an alternative course of action to be agreed where a regulated entity cannot fully comply. Accordingly, an alternative approach was agreed for Rivet Joint to achieve the same level of design safety assurance. The aircraft has been cleared by the Assistant Chief of the Air Staff, the RAF's Release to Service Authority, to fly to an initial Release to Service and completed its first flight on 23 May 2014.</p><p> </p> more like this
