The Apprenticeship Trailblazers have had a strong focus on the food industry, with schemes supporting food engineering and butchery skills. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/12/2015 answer text <p>The pets checkers (carriers or agents) which carry out checks to ensure pets animals are compliant with Pet Travel Scheme rules are audited by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) and the results show that they are performing satisfactorily. In 2014, APHA audited close to 6,000 pets. Of these only 0.9% of the pets were found not to comply with the entry rules. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/12/2015 answer text <p>The Animal Welfare Act 2006 makes it an offence to cause an animal unnecessary suffering. Anyone found guilty of an offence under the Act can be subject to an unlimited fine and/or six months’ imprisonment.</p><br /><p>It is for the courts to decide on an appropriate penalty based on the individual circumstances of each case. To help magistrates to impose appropriate sentences and penalties they are provided with guidance in the form of the Magistrates’ Courts Sentencing Guidelines issued by the Sentencing Council. The guidelines give examples of offences, aggravating and mitigating factors, as well as the range of suggested sentences and penalties for various types of offences. The sentences currently imposed for such offences are not regularly set towards the upper end of the range. This suggests that courts are not finding their current sentencing powers inadequate.</p><br /><p>Nevertheless, Defra understands the concern that existing levels of punishment may be insufficient in some cases. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/12/2015 answer text <p>Under the Welfare of Racing Greyhounds Regulations 2010, there is no statutory requirement on any greyhound organisation or individual track to report any figures to Defra. The Regulations have now been in force for five years and Defra is currently undertaking a review of their effectiveness. The review is looking at the requirement on tracks to collect injury statistics and how they are then used; and the traceability of greyhounds after they have left the sport. Defra is currently consulting on the initial findings of the review as well as proposals for further action. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/01/2016 answer text <p>The UK’s top priority for the bass negotiations at December Council was to agree measures to allow us to achieve sustainable fishing at EU level by 2018, and the package agreed puts us on the right path to do so.</p><br /><p>The International Council for the Exploration of the Sea’s advice for bass in 2016 reflected its standard advice format for achieving the sustainable fishing standard the following year.
