The Call for Evidence Defra published in 2021 was a key step in delivering that commitment. A summary of replies received should be published in due course.</p><p> </p><p>In the meantime, we are continuing to build our evidence base on the fur sector, which will be used to inform any future action on the fur trade.  We have also commissioned a report from our expert Animal Welfare Committee into the issue of what constitutes responsible sourcing in the fur industry. Exceptions to the standard rate have always been limited by both legal and fiscal considerations.</p><p> </p><p>The Government recognises that families should not have to bear all of the VAT costs they incur to meet their needs, with domestic fuels such as gas, electricity and heating oil already subject to the reduced rate of VAT at 5 per cent of VAT.</p><p> </p><p>The Government's package of support to help households with their energy bills is more generous than an additional VAT cut on domestic fuel and power, and there would be no guarantee that suppliers would pass on the discounts from this relief to all customers.</p> answering member printed Baroness Penn question first answered 07/11/2022 17:45:21 answering member 4726 label Biography information for Baroness Penn

We issued a Call for Evidence in March 2017 and regularly consult with key stakeholders through our Advisory Board on Female Offenders, which is chaired by the Minister with responsibility for female offenders. Those unaccompanied asylum seeking children who have recently been brought to the UK from Calais are assessed on arrival by Home Office officials who are trained to identify indicators of human trafficking or modern slavery and who are working closely with social workers and specialist organisations. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/10/2015 answer text <p>The Department for Transport and the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership established a Transport Energy Task Force in September 2014 to examine options to meet our renewable energy and greenhouse gas reduction targets, including through the wider deployment of sustainable biofuel. The Task Force included input from representatives of the Sustainable Aviation group. The Task Force’s report was published in March 2015 by the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership. My hon Friend the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport, the Hon Member for Harrogate and Knaresborough (Andrew Jones) met with Task Force representatives, including Sustainable Aviation, in July.</p><br /><p>The Task Force recognised that sustainable biofuels have a valuable role in reducing carbon emissions from transport, particularly in sectors where there are limited alternatives such as aviation.</p><br /><p>We are assessing the benefits of making aviation biofuels eligible for certificates under the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO). answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/11/2014 answer text <p>There was general agreement at the workshop that payment differentials was a complex issue and that any changes to the rules would create winners or losers with no clear benefit to vulnerable groups. For example, of households who were fuel poor in England in 2012, around 48% paid for their electricity and 40% paid for their gas through direct debit and around 27% paid for their electricity and 20% paid for their gas through prepayment meters. Changing rules in favour of pre-payment meter customers would make direct debit customers worse-off.</p><p>Ofgem intend to circulate a note from the event to participants within the next week.
