answer text
Personnel not undertaking training or deployed on operations can purchase food on a pay as you dine basis in messes or self-cater in their accommodation. Catering is supplied to bases via seven regional contracts with HESTIA. The contracts provide mess catering, retail, cleaning, laundry, and services such as tailoring and cobblers. The MOD sets specific requirements for food content and controls the price of meals. HESTIA provide 24 million meals per year and the contract for catering and facilities is £75 million per year. I refer my Noble Friend to the answer I have given to his related question HL7980 where the Daily Food Charge is set out.
more like this

answer text
The strength of policing in England & Wales lies in its relationships with the communities it serves. The measures being introduced by this Government to support officers, broaden representation and enhance accountability will help the police make these relationships even stronger.

We have put in place measures to ensure that policing is subject to appropriate levels of transparency and accountability – with regular inspections of the way forces engage with communities, frequent publication of data on use of police powers and strengthening the police complaints system. The public rightly expect police officers to meet high standards of professional conduct and the vast majority of officers do so.

We know that black people, particularly black men, are over-represented in the criminal justice system, and this Government is tackling the broader structural inequalities that lead to this.
more like this

answer text Workers and their families will be worried by the news that BHS has been placed in the hands of administrators. The Administrator must secure the best possible result for the business, starting with rescuing it if possible as a going concern. If this does not prove possible, then we stand ready to help those affected, including through Jobcentre Plus’ Rapid Response Service, to help people move into new jobs as quickly as possible. more like this
