answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/11/2023 answer text <p>Those granted refugee status have recourse to public funds and are able to apply for Universal Credit as soon as they receive their grant of status. Individuals do not need to have received their Biometric Residence Permit before making a claim to Universal Credit. They will need to be able to verify their identity and their refugee status for their claim to be processed. Although refugees normally rely on their Biometric Residence Permit to verify their identity and their refugee status, other documents can be accepted.</p><p> </p><p>DWP Staff are instructed to consider all available evidence when assessing a benefit claim, including checking directly with the Home Office to confirm immigration status where they are unsure. We are currently reviewing the guidance for staff on acceptable evidence for refugees including alternative evidence for those yet to receive a Biometric Residence Permit.</p><p> </p><p>We are also reviewing our public guidance to make clear that those granted refugee status should make a claim to Universal Credit as soon as they receive their grant of status if they require financial support and should not wait until they receive their Biometric Residence Permit. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/05/2021 answer text <p>The ongoing violence across Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories is deeply concerning and must stop. Every effort must be made to avoid loss of life, especially that of children. The Prime Minister has called for an urgent de-escalation of tensions. The Foreign Secretary delivered a message of de-escalation in his calls to Israeli Foreign Minister Ashkenazi on 11 May, and with Palestinian Prime Minister Shtayyeh on 12 May. I spoke to the Israeli Ambassador and to the Palestinian Head of Mission in London on the 11 May to urge them to de-escalate and restore calm. We have also engaged the UN Security Council, calling for measures to reduce further violence. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/01/2020 answer text <p>Ordinarily, an individual would not be medically discharged from the Armed Forces prior to a diagnosis of their condition being made.</p><p>However, it is possible in a limited number of cases that an individual displays symptoms and reduced function that is incompatible with Service, where even specialist medical opinion has been unable to determine a diagnosis, and all appropriate investigation and management have failed to improve functional outcome to the level required.
