answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/08/2024 answer text <p>All teachers who participate in the teaching of pupils are entitled to reasonable periods of planning, preparation and assessment (PPA) time, which is a minimum of 10% of their timetable. <br> <br> This government is committed to resetting the relationship between the government and education profession in order to improve the experience of being a teacher. In July, alongside delivering a fully-funded 5.5% pay award, we clarified that teachers can use PPA time at home, to provide greater flexibility for teachers. <br> <br> The department knows that improving workload will play a key role in recruiting and retaining excellent teachers and leaders, which will support the government’s mission to transform the education system so that all children and young people get the skills, care and opportunities they deserve.</p><p><br> The department is now considering all options for future policy interventions to improve teacher workload and wellbeing to help deliver on the government’s ambition to recruit 6,500 additional new teachers, and is working with partners across the sector to achieve this.</p><p> </p><p> </p> answering member constituency Newcastle upon Tyne North answering member printed Catherine McKinnell question first answered 05/08/2024 11:10:46 answering member 4125 label Biography information for Catherine McKinnell

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/02/2020 answer text <p>In response to the Online Harms White Paper, the Government ran a consultation from 8 April 2019 to 1 July 2019 which received over 2,400 responses from a wide range of stakeholders and organisations, including members of the public. The Government has also undertaken extensive engagement over the last 12 months with representatives from industry which, alongside the consultation responses, has been reflected in the Online Harms White Paper initial response published on 12 February 2020. Overall, respondents and stakeholders agreed that, whilst funding should primarily be from industry, the ultimate funding structure for the Online Harms regulator should be proportionate and practical.The Government is currently carrying out extensive analysis on potential funding options.
