answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/12/2023 answer text <p>The National Security Unit for Procurement, based in the Cabinet Office, will investigate suppliers who may pose a risk to national security and assess whether companies should be barred from public procurements. The Unit was announced as part of stepped up measures to protect national security in government contracts and will be operational in time for commencement of the Procurement Act in autumn 2024, when debarment and exclusion powers come into effect.</p><p>The Cabinet Office will also lead on the new National Procurement Policy Statement (NPPS). Before laying the NPPS in Parliament a Minister of the Crown must carry out such consultation as the Minister considers appropriate and make any necessary changes as a result of it. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/06/2022 answer text <p>The immigration removal estate is kept under ongoing review to ensure that the Home Office has sufficient capacity, in the right places and that it provides value for money.</p><p>The Home Office opened Derwentside immigration removal centre (IRC) for women in November 2021. We plan to supplement the new IRC by continuing to provide some detention capacity for women at Colnbrook, Dungavel and Yarl’s Wood IRCs. We have already completed design work to ensure the women’s space at Yarl’s Wood will be entirely separate from male resident space and we are planning to transition part of the Yarl’s Wood site back to an immigration removal centre for around 60 women. All taxpayers within scope of MTD will receive direct contact from HMRC in advance of mandation outlining the changes and explaining how to comply.</p><p> </p><p>HMRC engage extensively with taxpayers, agents, and representative bodies to raise awareness of MTD through stakeholder forums, public events, webinars, social media, and publishing information and guidance on GOV.UK.</p><p> </p><p>MTD does not change the amount of tax a business has to pay, but rather when and how it reports tax information to HMRC. We continue to make representations to the Israeli authorities outlining our concerns around Israel's treatment of Palestinian children in detention. Officials from our Embassy in Tel Aviv did so most recently on 16 December 2019. We remain committed to working with Israel to secure improvements to the practices surrounding children in detention.
