answer text <p>The Northern Ireland Troubles (Legacy and Reconciliation) Act 2023 requires Troubles-related inquests to conclude by 1 May 2024. The legislation provides a limited carve out for any Troubles-related inquests where the hearing of all evidence has finished and where the only matter still to come is the delivery of the inquest’s findings.</p><p> </p><p>The Act contains provisions allowing a coroner to request a review of a death by the ICRIR, led by Sir Declan Morgan as Chief Commissioner, if the inquest has not been concluded via the coronial process by 1 May 2024. Close family members, as well as the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, the Attorney General for Northern Ireland and the Advocate General for Northern Ireland, can also request a review of a death by the ICRIR.</p><p> </p><p>The case management of inquests is a matter for coroners.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>Information on professional development programmes taken by individual Ministers is not held centrally by the Government.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Ministers are able to access advice on specific subjects, including professional development programmes, such as the short modular training programme on major project delivery, designed by the Infrastructure Projects Authority and University of Oxford Saïd Business School.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The declaration on government reform published in June states a commitment to ensuring Ministers receive training in how to assess evidence, monitor delivery, and work effectively with Civil Service colleagues. answer text <p>If the leaders of the Sheffield City Region do not at some stage undertake the consultation, they will have chosen to walk away from the deal denying the people of the City Region some £1 billion investment from Government and the opportunity for the area to have new powers on transport, development, and skills. But as the Government has made clear, we remain committed to the deal and the mayoral election on 3 May 2018 for which Parliament has legislated. Even without devolved powers and budgets the election of such a mayor is not without benefits for the City Region, since the elected mayor would be a significant figure who would both be chair of the combined authority and could take their place as the voice of the city region alongside the other city region mayors in the Northern Powerhouse and in other forums with Government or stakeholders.</p> more like this
