<p>The Government attaches great importance to informative and accurate ministerial statements. The right of parliamentarians to take up issues directly with the Government is a key part of the democratic process and underlines the accountability of Ministers to Parliament. It is important that ministers give accurate and truthful information to Parliament and that they correct any inadvertent error at the earliest opportunity.</p>
