Such plans are not static and subsequent changes to capability have been authorised which will increase the planned size of the RN to just over 31,000 by 2027. However, the date by which we expect these new vessels to be operational is unlikely to be as soon as this.</p><p> </p><p>The Prime Minister’s announcement on 19 November marked the first outcome of the Integrated Review.
