This opt-in service is only done with Members’ express permission.</p><p>The Parliamentary Security Department regularly provides advice to Members and their staff on social media security, but we do not collate data on these interactions. Currently only one male toilet - in the House of Lords ground floor cloakroom - has a disposal bin; however the bins are generally only provided if requested. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/10/2019 answer text <p>The resolution of the House of 17 July 2019 endorsed the report of the House of Commons Commission entitled <a href="https://www.parliament.uk/documents/commons-commission/HC%202554%20-%20Extending%20the%20Independent%20Complaints%20and%20Grievance%20Scheme.pdf" target="_blank"><em>Extending the Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme</em></a> and approved steps to make the changes necessary to extend the scheme. In-House Services and Participation are the teams anticipated to be the most impacted in financial terms. Current estimated costs from these two teams are as follows:</p><p><strong>In-House Services</strong><br>An estimated £173k in lost banqueting sales (gross), resulting in £102k off the catering services bottom-line. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/09/2019 answer text <p>The House of Commons provides a range of British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation services for visitors to the Palace of Westminster and currently holds the Action on Hearing Loss ‘Louder than Words’ charter mark, which is re-accredited every three years.</p><p>Visitors on a commercial, ticketed tour can choose a BSL self-guided option which has been tested and approved by a range of deaf groups.</p><p>Visitors on a democratic access tour can also choose a BSL self-guided option, although in most cases a BSL signer would be booked and made available. The bicameral Visitor Services team has booked 35 BSL interpreters for visitors attending tours or watching parliamentary business, such as select committees, since the start of 2018. BSL interpretation can also be provided for visiting schools, although in most cases the schools themselves will bring their own interpreter.</p><p>The House is investigating the provision of a basic level of BSL training across the Visitor Services team. Training staff to a sufficiently high level of expertise to lead or interpret tours or other visiting activities has to date proved difficult due to the level and duration of training required combined with the frequency of staff turnover. Members or crimes as the information will be spread across the 45 UK police forces.</p><p>The police Parliamentary Liaison and Investigation Team (PLaIT) is a specialist unit based at Westminster that investigate crimes and incidents that take place on the Parliamentary Estate. Since April 2017 they have collated the following figures:</p><p>April 2017–March 2018: 152<br>April 2018–March 2019: 353<br>April 2019–May 2019: 43</p><p>The figures are reported crimes to PLaIT with relevance to threats, abuse or intimidation towards MPs and their offices only. It does not include other work that PLaIT investigates.
