The 2018 to 2019 season included the extension of the childhood programme to all those aged nine rising to 10 years old as well as the phased delivery of the newly licensed adjuvanted vaccine for those aged 65 and over.</p><p>The national school-age vaccination programme achieved the highest levels of vaccine uptake since it started (60.8%, 2,461,563/4,051,698 in 2018/19, compared to 59.5% in 2017/18 1,998,538/3,360,997). Vaccine uptake for the pre-school children’s influenza vaccine programme has also increased further compared to previous seasons. This is subject to negotiations, which are ongoing. For UK nationals that live in EU Member States, the UK cannot unilaterally guarantee the continuation of current arrangements, as this depends on decisions by Member States.</p><p>Individuals are always responsible for ensuring they have sufficient healthcare insurance. This includes access to treatment that becomes necessary during the course of a visit to Spain.</p><p><br> This means that in Spain, UK-issued European Health Insurance Cards (EHICs) or the equivalent would continue to be accepted as proof of UK cover in a ‘no deal’ scenario. The UK EHIC or its equivalent would need to be presented with a valid passport. It is important to note that UK EHICs will be accepted in Spain for 21 months after EU exit.</p><p><br> The Government of Portugal’s ‘no deal’ unilateral offer is only extended to UK nationals. This means that other nationals, including EU citizens, resident in the UK who presently enjoy UK EHIC cover would be fully charged for accessing public healthcare when they visit Portugal. Only UK passports, and not UK EHICs, would be accepted as providing proof of UK cover. We are putting in place a range of mitigations, these include:</p><p>- leading a procurement exercise to secure an ‘express freight service’, with the aim to secure transport of small medical supply consignment into the United Kingdom within the 24 hours if the UK leaves the European Union without a deal;</p><p>- changing or clarifying regulatory requirements so that companies can continue to sell their products in the UK if we have ‘no deal’;</p><p>- working with industry to improve trader readiness in preparation for the new customs procedures that will come into force on day one if we leave the EU without a deal; and</p><p>- advising travellers to ensure they have comprehensive travel insurance.</p><p>HM Treasury has allocated over £4.2 billion of additional funding to departments and devolved administrations for EU exit preparations so far. This breaks down as £412 million over the spending review period for the Department for Exiting the European Union, Department for International Trade and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Autumn Statement 2016); £286 million of additional funding for 2017/18 (a full breakdown of which can be found in Supplementary Estimates 2017/18); over £1.5 billion for 2018/19 (Supplementary Estimates 2018/19); and over £2 billion for 2019/20 (Main Estimates 2019/20).</p><p>This funding is to cover all exit scenarios and is in addition to departmental efforts to reprioritise from business as usual toward preparations for the UK’s departure from the EU. Data covering the period after publication of the Childhood Obesity Plan will become available in 2020.</p><p>As part of the Childhood Obesity Plan, Public Health England (PHE) oversees a sugar reduction programme. In May 2018, PHE published a report assessing progress in the first year of the programme. This showed sugar in retailer own brand and manufacturer branded products reduced by 2% overall, with larger reductions in some individual product categories. Sugar in drinks covered by the Soft Drinks Industry Levy reduced by 11%. Data also showed that consumers are buying more drinks that have sugar levels below five grams per 100 millilitres. The consultation on Government Buying Standards for Food and Catering Services runs until 13 August. We have received a high level of responses to the consultations and it is important we take the time to consider them carefully before we set out further action.</p><p> </p><p>Chapter 3 of the childhood obesity plan, published on 22 July 2019 as part of ‘Advancing our health: prevention in the 2020s’, sets out further measures to help meet our ambition including confirmation of our intention to end the sale of energy drinks to children under the age of 16, and our plans for infant feeding, clear nutrition labelling, food reformulation to improve the nutritional content of foods, and support for individuals to achieve and maintain a healthier weight.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, the Chief Medical Officer is reviewing what more can be done to help us meet our ambition of halving childhood obesity by 2030. This is subject to agreement by individual EU Member States.</p><p>For those Spanish and Portuguese citizens visiting the UK after exit day, if agreed under bilateral agreements with Spain and Portugal, visitors will be able to use their EHIC as they do now. We want to reassure patients we are doing everything we can to help make sure they can access the medicines they need after EU exit, whatever the circumstances.</p><p>We continue to implement a multi-layered approach to minimize any supply disruption on medicines and medical supplies, should the United Kingdom leave the EU without a deal. These plans include:</p><p>- Procuring additional capacity on alternative routes (away from the short straits) for goods to continue to come into the UK ahead EU exit;</p><p>- buffer stocks and stockpiling (where this is practical) or asking industry or the NHS Supply Chain to build up buffer stocks in the UK ahead of EU exit;</p><p>- Arrangements to deal with shortages in addition to normal shortage management routes, enabling ministers to issue serious shortage protocols to pharmacists;</p><p>- additional warehouse space for stockpiled medicines, including ambient, refrigerated and controlled drug storage;</p><p>- working with industry to improve trader readiness in preparation for the new customs procedures that will come into force on day 1 if we leave the EU without a deal; and</p><p>- changing or clarifying regulatory requirements so that companies can continue to sell their products in the UK if the UK leaves without a deal.</p><p>The Department has implemented a multi-layered approach to mitigate potential disruption to supply. The mechanisms and the time taken to make these payments will depend on the Member State.</p><p>The UK is, in the first instance, seeking to use established processes and continue making payments at country-to-country level as we do now. If Member States do not agree to this, the UK Government will offer to pay healthcare providers in the EU directly. The timing of the payment will depend on when providers or individuals provide the necessary information to NHS Business Services Authority. This should be provided by their employer as part of the organisation’s policy for the prevention of the transmission of flu to help protect both staff and those that they care for. To help increase uptake rates for social care workers, NHS England and NHS Improvement have a scheme to complement employers responsibilities so that vaccination is also available for social care and hospice staff from their general practitioner or community pharmacy.</p><p> </p><p>For this coming winter, Public Heath England have developed brand new resources to encourage social care worker vaccination. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/02/2020 answer text <p>Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust has a strong track record of providing high quality care to people with suspected or confirmed cases of cancer in a timely manner. Last year, the Trust met all of the waiting time standards we expect for cancer patients, including seeing 97.2% of patients with a suspected cancer within two weeks of their general practitioners (GPs) referral, 99.1% of patients began treatment with 31 days of diagnosis, and 89% of patients began treatment within 62 days of their initial referral.</p><p>Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is working on plans to improve the patient’s experience through their cancer journey. This includes access to a clinical nurse specialist or key worker, and they have recently appointed three Advanced Nurse Practitioners and funding approved to increase number of clinical nurse specialists. The Trust is introducing ‘Living With and Beyond Cancer’ – a new work stream to improve patient experience and care beyond their diagnosis and initial treatment and improving quality of life for those living with cancer. This includes NHS England and NHS Improvement data collection on long term quality of life metrics, stratified follow up pathways, reducing and managing long term outcomes of treatment, and Holistic Needs Assessments.</p><p>The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is a research active organisation, with an academic partnership with The Institute of Cancer Research, and, together, are ranked third in the world for impact of their research.
