	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/01/2020 answer text <ol><li>The Prime Minister has publicly stated that education, particularly standing up for the right of every girl in the world to have 12 years of quality education, is a priority for the UK. Between 2009 and 2018, the Government spent £7.08 billion bilaterally from the public purse to support the fulfilment of the UN sustainable development goal on education. This does not include all multilateral spend. Between 2015 and 2019 DFID supported 14.8 million children to gain a decent education, of which at least 5.8 million were girls. UKAid is spent in the countries that need it the most. From 2015 to 2018, the largest number of children supported by DFID education programmes was in Africa, where the majority of out of school children live. The sectors that have been included are: Health general, basic health and non-communicable diseases.</p><p>(c) (i) DFID spent £1,048m bi-laterally on the broad Economic Infrastructure and services sector in 2018/19. The sectors that have been included are as follows: Transport &amp; storage, communications, energy generation and policy, banking and businesses.</p><p>(ii) DFID spent £209m bi-laterally on the broad Social Infrastructure sector in 2018/19. DFID has invested significantly in ensuring that programmes are scrutinised for value for money and effective delivery. The department has a track record of spending and monitoring ODA well, including through ICAI.</p><p>(2) DFID is committed to transparency and continues to be a global leader, remaining in the ‘very good’ category of the 2020 Aid Transparency Index which assesses the performance of the world’s major aid donors. To date the programme has trained over 25,000 teachers and school leaders, and reached over 6,000 schools.</p><p>Given the programme is less than halfway through implementation, DFID is focused on delivering current results. CDC publishes the amounts it invests directly into businesses and investment funds. Individual investment valuations are commercially sensitive and are not disclosed.</p><p> </p><p>In the first two years of CDC’s current strategic period (2017-2018) it committed over $500 million to renewable energy.</p><p> </p><p>Since 2015, CDC has made over $800m of commitments in green investments in a range of sectors – including renewable power, green buildings and forestry. Over the past two years, CDC has committed over $500 million to renewable energy projects, almost 25% of CDC’s total investment commitments made over this period. Building on this base, CDC have recently completed work on a new Climate Strategy that sets out a higher level of ambition on Climate and a portfolio-wide “Carbon budget” approach to Paris alignment, tied to HMG commitments to reach net zero by 2050. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/11/2019 answer text <p>A June 2019 study by the Overseas Development Institute found that refugees felt that their lives would first and foremost be improved through education, then better living conditions, then the ability to support themselves. The study also describes the Rohingya people’s immediate concerns affecting their quality of life, including shelter conditions, lack of firewood or stoves, issues with healthcare, water, sanitation and hygiene and protection support, inadequate food and insufficient supplies.</p><p> </p><p>The UK has committed £256 million in funding since August 2017 to improve many aspects of daily life including food security, nutrition, shelter, health, and education. The UK engages regularly with the Government of Bangladesh to discuss the need to improve refugees’ access to education, skills and livelihoods. While progress has been made, life within the camps remains challenging for the Rohingya and the uncertainty about their future is a difficult burden to bear.
