star this property answer text <p>We are one of the largest bilateral donors to education globally</p><p><br>Between 2015 and 2019 we supported 14.3 million children to gain a decent education of which at least 5.8m were girls.</p><p>DFID’s focus is on ensuring that children have access to a quality education.</p><p>My ambition is that DFID increases the number of its education specialists in the field to support the major shift required in education systems and teaching to deliver improved learning for children.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>I share the hon Gentleman’s concerns about the reports of poor conditions and overcrowding in US detention facilities on the border with Mexico.</p><p>I very much welcome the steps already taken by the Administration and Congress to address these issues, including the emergency funding signed off by the President on 1 July.</p><p>These are difficult issues, and the UK has also struggled sometimes to get this right.</p><p>But we very much encourage our US friends to continue to work to improve the conditions in these facilities.</p><p>I have seen the excellent work the US has done around the world to promote human rights, and so it is important that they uphold these standards as they continue to tackle the situation at the US-Mexico border.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>DFID’s people-to-people programme builds support for peace by bringing together Palestinians and Israelis to promote tolerance and work on shared problems.</p><p>So far, over 1,200 young Israelis and Palestinians have taken part in holy site tours aimed at increasing understanding of religious tolerance. star this property answer text <p>As a Government Major Project, the 100,000 Genomes Project has been under regular review by the Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) which provides independent assurance of the most complex and strategically significant projects across Government. As part of this, the 100,000 Genomes Project has undergone several significant reviews which considered the Project’s delivery, requiring the collation of extensive documentation evidencing the progress of the Project and several days of interviews with key stakeholders. Conclusions of each review were shared across delivery partners to inform successful delivery of the Project.</p><p>The Department, Genomics England and NHS England recognised the importance in embedding robust testing, assessment and evaluation throughout the delivery of the Project to inform the introduction of whole genome sequencing in the National Health Service under the new Genomics Medicine Service.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Genomics England is committed to returning results to every patient in the 100,000 Genomes Project via their National Health Service clinical team. All of the patient results will have been returned to the NHS by the end of the year.</p><p>Under the Data Protection Legislation, participants in the 100,000 Genomes Project can request their genomic and clinical data. However, a whole genome sequence is around 3 billion letters long and written in code so it is very difficult to interpret. Genomics England can provide access to a visual representation on request or provide access to the raw data. A NHS clinical team is the best route to providing a clinical interpretation of the genome results.</p> more like this

The guidelines apply to exposures at frequencies up to 300 GHz, well above the maximum few tens of GHz frequencies anticipated for use by 5G systems.</p><p>Health and safety legislation requires companies deploying and operating communication networks to carry out suitable and sufficient risk assessments, as well as put in place measures to reduce the identified risks so far as reasonably practicable. In controlling risks arising from radio wave exposure, the Health and Safety Executive refer to compliance with the ICNIRP guidelines. Industry has committed to comply with the international guidelines and to provide certificates of compliance with planning applications for base stations.</p><p>PHE continues to monitor the health-related evidence applicable to radio waves, including in relation to base stations, and is committed to updating its advice as required.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
