	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/10/2019 answer text <p>Codes E and F of the Policing and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 governs the conduct video and audio recording of interviews of non-terrorism suspects, in-cluding appropriate safeguards. All interviews of terrorist suspects in England and Wales must be audio and visual recorded. The use of video recording for other stages of the investigatory process is an operational matter for the police. The size and composition of the police workforce is a local decision for Police and Crime Commissioners, working with chief officers.</p><p>Strengthening police numbers is a priority for the government, which is providing £750 million to support forces to recruit up to 6,000 additional officers onto our streets by the end of 2020-21, the first stage in an uplift of 20,000 officers over the next three year. All officers recruited as part of the 20,000 uplift will be additional to those hired to fill existing vacancies. It is not possible to separately identify the number of burglaries that involved a violent assault in the information that we hold centrally. However, data is available on the number of aggravated burglary offences. The analysis shows that there are a range of factors that have driven these increases and changes in the drugs market are a major factor.</p><p>The Government is determined to tackle all form of serious violence. This includes supporting the police by recruiting 20,000 new police officers over the next three years and making it easier for them to use stop and search powers and announcing an additional £20 million to tackle county lines, including expanding the National County Lines Co-ordination Centre.
