star this property answer text The Government and NHS England and NHS Improvement recognise that the mental health impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak are significant and are working closely with mental health providers to ensure those who need them have access to mental health services. <p /><p>Our community mental health services, Improving Access to Psychological Therapies services and children and young people’s services have remained open for business throughout this time and are working to support people with mental health issues through the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond, deploying innovative digital tools to connect with people and provide ongoing support.</p><p>For those with severe needs or in crisis, NHS England has instructed all National Health Service mental health trusts to establish 24 hours a day, seven days a week mental health crisis lines for urgent NHS mental health support, advice and triage for people of all ages through a single point of access.</p><p /><p /> <p> </p><p /><p /> <p> </p><p /><p /> more like this

The aim was to improve access to testing by enabling general practitioners to test symptomatic patients who present to general practice settings, when deemed it clinically appropriate, for example for some patients who are vulnerable and may otherwise struggle to access a test through the main testing routes.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We have massively expanded our supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) from overseas and domestically. We have contracted with over 100 new suppliers able to deliver at the scale and pace the United Kingdom requires. We are continuing to sign further deals to make our position more secure. We recently secured a further 3.7 billion gloves to help meet the expected demand and we are building up UK manufacturing capability. We have signed contracts for over 2 billion items of PPE through UK-based manufacturers, including aprons, facemasks, visors and gowns. star this property answer text <p>We are working with the National Health Service and Public Health England, service users, academics and the voluntary sector to gather evidence and assess the potential longer-term mental health impacts of COVID-19 and plan for how to support the public’s mental health and wellbeing throughout the ‘recovery’ phase.</p><p>At each review point for the social distancing measures, we will also review the risks for the clinical vulnerable and the clinically extremely vulnerable and assess whether the shielding period needs to be extended or whether it is possible for the shielding guidance to be eased further. We will base our assessment on clinical advice from our medical experts, and the best data available about the prevalence of COVID-19 in the community. <br> <br> The Government has also formed a new ‘Tackling Loneliness Network’ of charities, businesses and public figures to help connect groups at risk of isolation and bring together data and insights to better understand the impacts of COVID-19 on loneliness</p><p><br></p>

star this property answer text <p>We are working to ensure that we continue to scale up our testing capacity, allowing more people to be tested should they need it. We have exceeded the 200,000 testing capacity target, with current capacity standing at 338,413 as of 2 August 2020.</p><p>We have established a network of testing sites across the United Kingdom with 73 Regional Test Sites, 17 Local Test Services (walk through), 22 Satellite Testing Centre, 236 Mobile Testing Units, and we will look to increase this in the coming months to meet our needs.</p> more like this
