	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/07/2019 answer text <p>The clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) are currently looking at different options as to how they can work together in the future to consolidate their current collaborative working arrangements. The emerging preferred option from the public, member, staff, partner and stakeholder engagement so far, is a single CCG in Durham, which would be co-terminus with the local authority and a single CCG in the Tees Valley (covering the Tees Combined Authority area) with a shared management arrangement.</p><p>The CCGs in Durham have been working together for some time with joint appointments since 2014 and ‘in-common’ meetings since May 2017. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/07/2019 answer text <p>On 1 April 2013, clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) replaced primary care trusts (PCTs) as the primary commissioner of National Health Service services in England.</p><p>Unlike PCTs, CCGs are clinically led, and so are better able to use clinical expertise to assess and prioritise those treatments that provide the safest and most effective outcomes for their population. The reforms to public service pensions ensured that schemes are sustainable and the costs are fair to both staff and the taxpayer.</p><p>Data is not collected on the impact of the new National Health Service pension scheme, other cumulative changes, or the annual allowance on the level of hours worked by practitioners, or practitioner morale.</p><p>The Department recognises that the tapered annual allowance may contribute to decisions by NHS staff to retire early or limit their NHS commitments. The Government is listening carefully to concerns raised by senior doctors and NHS employers about the impact of tapered annual allowance.</p><p>The Department has sought to make available to NHS Pension Scheme members all possible flexibility under Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs legislation and the current fiscal framework for public sector pension schemes. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/06/2019 answer text <p>The Royal College of Physicians’ report ‘Focus on physicians: census of consultant physicians and higher specialty trainees 2017-18’ is a valuable source of information for medical workforce planning in England. The NHS Long Term Plan and the subsequent interim NHS People Plan set out the action we will take now and over the long term to meet the challenges of supply, reform, culture and leadership. They were developed on the basis of the advice and experience of stakeholders including the Royal College of Physicians. Since the report was published in June 2018 action has been taken to address some of the findings of the report.</p><p>The Government has already committed to funding for universities to offer an extra 1,500 undergraduate medical school places opening five new medical schools across England in the process. The interim NHS People Plan sets out that we will review what further expansion in undergraduate medical places will be needed, in light of future plans made locally by sustainability and transformation partnerships and integrated care systems.</p><p>The NHS Long Term Plan included the commitment to exploring the potential to expand the Medical Training Initiative so that more medical trainees from developed and developing countries can spend time working and learning in the National Health Service.
