star this property answer text <p><ins class="ministerial"> <p><ins class="ministerial">The Department for International Trade and the Department of Health and Social Care are not specifically collecting data on the growth of the market for cannabis based products for medicinal use in the United Kingdom.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">However, data from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) shows growing numbers of import notifications for medicinal cannabis and the Home Office has received increased numbers of licence applications.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">In addition, UK companies exporting these products and foreign companies looking to invest in the UK have full access to government support, where they have the necessary authorisations from the MHRA and Home Office and a relevant Export Licence.</ins></p></ins></p><p><del class="ministerial">An initial impact assessment was published alongside The Misuse of Drugs (Amendments) (Cannabis and Licence Fees) (England, Wales and Scotland) Regulations 2018. This can be viewed at the following link:</del></p><p><del class="ministerial"><a href="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2018/1055/impacts" target="_blank">http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2018/1055/impacts</a></del></p><p><del class="ministerial">This set out the approach that the Government proposed to take in assessing the costs and benefits of the change in the law at a population level, with regard to the rescheduling of cannabis-based products for medicinal use (CBPM). This framework included potential savings in treatment costs, giving the example of patients with severe epilepsy for whom medicinal use of cannabis could reduce the frequency of seizures and reduce the number of related hospital admissions. This was an initial framework for assessing this policy and as we develop our knowledge in this area, both on the costs and the potential benefits, we can revisit and refine these assessments.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">In the meantime, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is developing clinical guidelines on the appropriate use of CBPM based on the best available evidence, and the National Institute for Health Research is funding further clinical research on this. star this property answer text <p><del class="ministerial">There is no requirement under the terms of the Public Statues (Metropolis) Act 1854 to obtain the consent of the Secretary of State before the removal of sculptures erected in London.</del></p><p> </p><p><ins class="ministerial">Indoor sports and physical activity facilities play a crucial role in supporting people to be active and the Government is committed to reopening facilities, including snow sports and indoor rock climbing facilities, as soon as it is safe to do so. </ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial"> </ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">We are holding regular discussions with representatives from the leisure sector and national sports organisations to develop guidance that will support them to open their facilities in a timely and safe manner once lockdown measures are eased. </ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial"> </ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">As with all aspects of the Government’s response to Covid-19, we will be guided by the science to ensure that as restrictions are eased people can return to activity safely.</ins></p><ins class="ministerial"> </ins>

star this property answer text <p>Reviews of the first two schemes to be designed to the all lane running standard, both on the M25, shows they are performing well and in line with expectations; successfully increasing capacity and improving journeys for motorists. These reviews found that the M25 schemes delivered an overall 27% safety improvement.</p><p> </p><p>Nevertheless, to help drivers feel more confident they can find a place to stop in an emergency, Highways England have committed to reducing the maximum spacing of emergency areas which is currently about every mile and a half (about 90 seconds at 60mph), to around every mile (about every minute at 60mph). This will take place on new schemes being constructed from 2020 onwards.</p><p> </p><p>Currently the average spacing on all lane running sections is just over a mile.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, in the next twelve months construction work will commence to install 10 additional emergency refuge areas on the M25.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The original safety assessment of all lane running included the safety of a vehicle stopping in a running lane during peak and off-peak periods. It also identified a range of measures, such as the provision of traffic management technology and emergency areas, designed to ensure overall all lane running safety levels would be at least as safe as those of a traditional motorway with a hard shoulder.</p><p> </p><p>The smart motorway schemes between junctions J5-7 and 23-27 of the M25 were the first to be designed to the all lane running standard, and were completed in 2014. Broadly two approaches have been taken: to regulate as a medicine (both licenced and unlicensed) as in the United Kingdom or to regulate outside of the medicinal regime as in Canada. In reviewing the available international evidence, the Chief Medical Officer for England and Chief Medical Adviser to the UK Government, looked at evidence reviews from the United States, Ireland, Australia, and the World Health Organization. Departmental officials have also reviewed information from a wide range of other countries and have spoken to the authorities and organisations in Australia, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, and the United States (New York).</p> more like this
