The Government expects employers to take these responsibilities seriously. If they fail, employees can seek advice from Acas and, if necessary, take legal action in an Employment Tribunal.</p><p>Last year the Equality and Human Rights Commission, with the Government’s support, published guidance on harassment and sexual harassment at work.</p><p>In addition, the Government has consulted on sexual harassment in the workplace, focusing on whether the laws to protect people from harassment at work are operating effectively. External data collection and media reports have shown that sexual harassment remains a persistent, prevalent problem across the country, and particularly in our workplaces. In 2021 a poll by the TUC found that around 7 in 10 disabled women surveyed had been sexually harassed at work, for example.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The Government is committed to tackling sexual harassment in the workplace, to make sure that people feel safe and supported to thrive. In July 2021, as part of our strategy to tackle Violence Against Women and Girls, the Government committed to a new package of measures. Recent work in this area includes: extending rights to flexible working, enhancing protections from redundancy for new parents, and expanding free childcare entitlements.</p><p>We recognise that those who have taken extended time away from the workplace due to caring responsibilities can find it particularly difficult to return to work. Our STEM ReCharge pilot, delivered by expert organisations, Career Returners and STEM Returners, is currently supporting parents and carers back into STEM roles specifically.</p><p>The pilot is providing personalised employability support, sector-specific refresh training, and work opportunities to technology and engineering returners in the Midlands and the North of England. They are designed to ensure that individuals working like employees pay broadly the same amount of tax and National Insurance Contributions, regardless of the structure they work through. They do not affect the self-employed.</p><p> </p><p>Budget 2018 announced that reforms introduced in 2017 for the public sector would be extended to all sectors, from April 2020, giving businesses time to prepare. The Government has consulted extensively on the reform, and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) have published guidance and are delivering an education and support programme to help customers prepare.</p><p> </p><p>On 11 July 2019, HMRC published a Tax Information and Impact Note setting out the costs to business and individuals, and the economic impact of the off-payroll reform. The Government consulted widely on the proposed extension of the reform to all sectors, including over summer 2018 and spring 2019. Having listened to concerns, the Government announced the changes be introduced from April 2020 for medium and large-sized organisations only.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has worked closely with external stakeholders to ensure that they are ready for these changes, providing targeted support for companies to help them implement these changes. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) continue to work with stakeholders to make improvements to the Check Employment Status for Tax (CEST) digital service to help them make decisions on the employment status for tax purposes of their workers.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, HMRC have set up dedicated teams to provide education and guidance to all businesses affected by the reforms. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/03/2020 answer text <p>The Controlling Migration Fund opened in November 2016 with the aim of easing pressures on local services linked to recent migration and providing targeted immigration enforcement activity. Until 2020 the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has contributed £100 million of funding, with the Home Office contributing £40 million worth of enforcement activity.</p><p> </p><p>The Home Office also provides funding to local authorities as a contribution to the costs they incur when supporting unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC), which is in addition to the money provided through the local government finance settlement. In May 2019, the Home Office announced a significant increase in the funding: from 1 April 2019, local authorities now receive £114 per UASC per night for each UASC in their care, regardless of their age or when they entered the UK.
