Over the last couple of months we have been consulting with a number of charities and other experts on the most effective way for us to use the taskforce.</p><p> </p><p>I will be chairing the taskforce alongside two leading experts in the sector, alongside a number of enthusiastic and skilled experts. We have recently passed the second reporting deadline, and over 10,000 employers have provided their data. The Equality and Human Rights Commission will take action with those who have failed to report or provided inaccurate data.</p><p> </p><p>We are supporting employers to take action to reduce their gaps. For example, the Office for Disability Issues in the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) leads on disability policy, the Race Disparity Unit in the Cabinet Office is key to our approach on race equality, DWP and HM Treasury are responsible for addressing income inequality within the UK, and the Department for International Development leads on tackling inequality between countries.</p><p>To aid transparency, all Departments are expected to set out how their activity aligns to the Goals in their Single Departmental Plans. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/05/2019 answer text <p>It is important we use the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia to remember the countless LGBT people who faced persecution during the Holocaust.</p><p> </p><p>The Government, with cross-party support, has committed to build a new national Memorial to the Holocaust with a Learning Centre, alongside the Houses of Parliament. The Memorial will stand as a reminder to all in Parliament, and the whole nation, of our responsibility to remain vigilant against all forms of intolerance and bigotry.</p><p> </p><p>Recognising their suffering and the injustices LGBT people continue to face should, of course, not simply be about gestures; it must translate into action. As part of our new strategy we will set out what the Government is doing to ensure that people have financial independence and resilience, as well as real choice and influence over the economic decisions in their lives. This includes the choices that women make around whether to have children, and how to balance work and care.</p><p> </p><p>The Government provides a range of support for new mothers, depending on their needs and the needs of their families. These include breastfeeding, perinatal mental health, and health visitor support.</p><p> </p><p>Enabling women and men to spend quality time with their child in the first year is important to support families to bond. The right to request flexible working, and the introduction of Shared Parental Leave helps parents to balance work and care between them, in a way that works for their families.</p><p> </p><p>If mothers want to return to work, childcare support is available, we have doubled the childcare entitlement for working parents of 3 and 4 year olds, from 15 to 30 hours a week as well as introducing Tax-Free Childcare. Protections for disabled employees and job applicants exist in the Equality Act 2010 and remedies are available where breaches occur. Acas and the Equality and Human Rights Commission, have published comprehensive guidance to assist employees identify discrimination and other unlawful conduct and then enforce their rights. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/04/2019 answer text <p>It is unacceptable that users of assistance dogs experience unlawful discrimination in the provision of goods, services or public functions. The Equality Act 2010 places a duty on organisations and service providers to make reasonable adjustments to improve access to premises and services so that disabled customers, including those with assistance dogs, have the same access to goods and services and are not placed at a substantial disadvantage compared to non-disabled customers.</p><p> </p><p>The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is the public body responsible for enforcing the Equality Act. In 2017, the EHRC published two pieces of guidance - a guide to help businesses understand what they can do to meet their legal duties to assistance dog owners, and a guide to help tourism businesses welcome people with access requirements. The EHRC supports disabled individuals who have experienced discrimination to take their cases to court.
